This chute is printed in either BLACK or YELLOW high strength PETG plastic with black PETG accessories.
NOTE: This solution is designed SPECIFICALLY for the DWS779/780 model numbers. It should also fit models DWS709, DWS718, DWS782 and DHS790. There is no guarantee that this will fit any other saw.

I did discover the purpose of the DeWalt collector. It's to prop the blade guard up making the Shop Nation collector easier to install!

No help when package was delivered to wrong address. It was my fault but I don’t know the people at that address and you made no effort to help, offer another, offer a discount for another. While the product maybe good customer service could use an upgrade. I was not able to retrieve the package nor did I buy another

So much better than the stock dust extractor!! There’s a learning curve in order to not chew up the neoprene rubber, but manageable. The included spare rubber sheet will come in handy after a few more careless cuts. 100% worth it!

The instructions were thorough and the parts installed very well. I needed to widen the fence slightly to accommodate the rubber boot. Not a problem, just a comment. Since installation, I have cut 60 plywood parts at both 90 and 45 degrees and estimate it collects 90+ percent of the dust compared to 50% with the stock system. I'm very satisfied with its performance.

Dust collection is greatly improved, pretty good design. Two sticking points for me are that the flexible tubing included in the kit could be longer in order to get the connection point off the top/back of the saw. Also, the 3D printed material did not weld properly on my unit, and the surface of the interior was rough with a nest of errant strands of material that had to be sanded away before use.

So much better than the factory dust collection. While this does bit catch 100% of the particles, it is a HUGE difference. I did notice that cut soeed does play into the amount of dust the shroud is aboe to collect, slower = better.

Love the design and how well it collects dust. Not so thrilled about the material its constructed out of. I use my sliding miter saw to install stair banisters 5 days a week. I started using this shop nation dust collection port 18 months ago, and I am now on my third one. They crack and chip very easily due to small cutoff ejections and accidental colliding of the fence and dust port. At $62 delivered every 9 months Im not sure if I will keep buying them. I think the proof of concept is there and I would love to see them injection molded or possibly 3d printed with a shock resistant material.

On March 7, 2026 I ordered a dust collection chute. It arrived on March 16, 2026. Easier to track on USPS website than the SHOP app. No written installation instructions included. Installation video is too fast and hard to follow. New dust collector is a slight improvement from old. I have a new DeWalt DWS 780 with a new 100 tooth 12 inch blade hooked to a 3 hp vacuum.

I misread the number on my Dewalt 790. I heard the instructions on the installation video to check the number, and installed the rubber flap on the part with the four screws. When it wouldn’t fit, I contacted customer service who was very polite, but said since the rubber flap had been damaged by the screws, it probably wasn’t returnable. My fault entirely. I asked if there were plans to make one for the 790 so I could enjoy the product. She wasn’t aware of any plans to make that model.
I should have made sure before I ordered and installed. Lesson learned. Still think it’s a great product. Just can’t use it.

The only hang up was at the post office. The label printing was incomplete as the the first column was mostly missing so I'd check your printing. I was able to do a re-delivery and picked it up this morning.

Overall I like the product, at first glance I was skeptical however upon installation and operation I like it.
I have a zero clearance fence so that affects it drawing in more dust than I believe it’s capable of but it’s a noticeable improvement from the oem option and other simple mods I had used. One thing I would suggest is a tighter lock on the adaptive couplers, mine has unlocked and come apart numerous times in a short span of operation, it’s not a deal breaker as nothing more than tape, adhesive or other to hold it more permanently, it easily remedied in shop.
That’s the one thing that held me back from a five star rating.
I’d buy more products and recommend Shop Nation anytime.

I haven't even connected the shop vac yet due to a hose size problem, but I can already see the difference. It is awesome watching the saw dust stream out of the adapter hose rather than blowing all over the place with the production solution from Dewalt. They ought to license your solution.

This attachment has really made a difference in the amount of sawdust collected in my vac.
For the kind of cuts I make most of the time (3/4” flat on the table of the saw) it is amazing how little dust is left on the saw. I have been cutting some thicker material lately and I would say the amount of dust collected goes down as the thickness increases. But even with that, it’s a great improvement over the original dust chute.

Recently installed the dust upgrade component from shopnation for my Dewalt dws780. Extremely easy to fit and an easy video to follow for those needing instructions. The parts supplied all feel of a good quality and everything built together very nicely. The hose of my Festool midi fit snuggly within the port. For those expecting to completely eliminate mitre dust this is not for you. However it is a huge improvement on the dewalt standard set up. I run a few test pieces of 18mm ply and pine 2x4 on fitting the upgrade and was immediately impressed. On cutting at a slow speed you can clearly see possibly 90% of dust is being drawn through the extraction piece. For anybody unsure whether to buy one of these as an easy example, I'm a tradesman and keen DIYer - hobbyist. I work in a very small space in my garage and normally i would be cleaning the saw every 10 cuts to avoid the dust. With this upgrade the cleaning looks like it will just be at the end of the day from now on

Could not be more happier with the results of the dust collection!!! I would say more than 95% reduction in the amount of dust into the air and onto the miter saw table. Like the difference between night and day! I added the extra long flexble hose and routed it thru the table to the vacuum below the table. I also added a switch that turns on the vacuum when I turn on the saw. In my case, that allows even more dust collection because I'd forget to power-on the vacuum. I'm doing a restomod on the miter saw table and this dust collector is like icing on the cake!!

It works well! I had put my saw in a small Rockler paint tent with a vacuum on the OEM dust collection tube, so I've never had huge amounts of dust to clean up since most would fall in the tent. But I get much less in the tent now, and I won't have to vacuum out the tent as much anymore.

Dust collection is great. However the screw that go through the rubber and into the fitting could use a different fastening system. Screw stripped rubber torr almost immediately. I bought small bolts ,nuts , and washers. Seems to be a better option.

Was a bit concerned upon receipt as I saw that the housing was 3D printed. But the piece is solid. Scanned the QR code, watched the video and waltzed right through simple assembly steps. It only took a few minutes to complete the swap. Tested with my dust collection rig and am VERY impressed. A great improvement at a reasonable price.

This thing is slightly better than the OEM dust shroud; 8 of 10 opposed to 5 of 10... Once you go through the board, the dust gets pushed down, rendering the unit less effective as it moves with the blade. I am still happy with the purchase and would buy it again.

The dust collection system was straightforward to install. It works great in conjunction with an attached vacuum, but not that great when cutting without a vacuum attached (i.e., outdoor workspace). A bit pricey for what it includes.

The well designed dust collectors works very well! Much better than the one that comes with the saw. Well made and the owner's video does a good job of showing how to install. An idea to ease the installation of the rubber part into the channel: add an adhesive to the channel to hold in place when screwing and use slightly larger screw. The 2 outside screws were difficult to get in correctly. Note to user: CHECK YOUR FENCES when pushing the saw back towards them. If too close, they can bend the rubber part a lot. This is NOT an issue with the part but in my case with the user :)

The materials seem to be of a good quality, and I think they’ll hold up well over time.
However, I do have have two complaints. There were two flexible rubber dust shoes included, I wish at least one of them had come in a longer size. I can see how a longer one might get caught between the blade and the wood if you’re cutting thicker stock, but I cut a lot of thinner material (3/4” or less) and there is plenty of room for a longer rubber shoe that would (I think) dramatically improve the dust collection. I’m seeing quite a bit of dust escape between the wood and the bottom of the rubber shoe that I think would get sucked up if it were being diverted upward. So my suggestion would be to include different sizes of rubber material and a guide for which one to use depending on the thickness of what is normally being cut.
Second complaint is that when swapping blades the blade has to be pushed against the 3d printed portion and flex out past the arbor to remove the blade. You can still do it, but I think a little more thought could’ve gone into allowing enough clearance for easy blade changes.

It fit well and install was easy. I am pleased with how well it collects dust when I use the saw in a chop motion. I am not too pleased when I use the saw out on the rails. The rubber collection piece catches on the saw and hits the blade. I have already ruined the first rubber piece . 2 were included. I may have to see if I can order more.

Generally really good. However on the 1st test run I had the fence pretty narrow and the saw cut the replaceable rubber funnel. At least 2 came with it and I need to be careful with the fence.

The new dust chute did not work any better than the original dust chute for my DW 780.. So, I tried the add on vacuum connection and it work 100% better than anything that I have, So I am always going to use my vacuum anytime I use my DW780 Miter Saw.

The dust collection system is better than the original DeWalt collector, but in my instance it is not as good as I thought it would be. It works great on straight cuts. On miter cuts and thicker boards there is a lot of dust bounce-back off the rubber “catcher” which makes quite a mess. Overall it is okay, but not great.
