I have installed and tested the new dust collection chute. So far very pleased. I had modified the original collapsing rubber chute that came on the saw so it worked fairly well but this is a huge upgrade. The Dewalt chute exited behind the saw then a vacuum hose attached which made it stick out substantially. This exits beside the saw which saves 6-10" behind it and works much better. Dust collection improved and the saw operation improved. Very pleased to date.

I just installed the Dewalt 779 dust collector fro Shop Nation. Installation took about 15 minutes. If you can operate the saw you can install the collecter.
After installing I cleaned the area and then I cut hard maple. I would say that the collector collected about 90% of the dust. I am more than happy with the purchase.

This is an amazing product that offers a unique solution to a common dust collection problem. The available videos gave a lot of confidence to try out the purchase. The online store was easy to use, the upstates from customer service were promt, and the product arrived in good time.
Provided videos made installation easy. And the results are fantastic. While the OEM dust collection captures maybe 20-30%, this brings it to a clear 75-85%. The most noticeable difference is the elimination of the big dust cloud that would form around the saw during cuts (a major safety hazzard for lungs).

Absolutely the best dust collection system for a mitre saw currently on the market today. Leaves and absolutely minor amount of dust compared to the factory supplied version on my Dewalt sliding compound mitre saw. Would recommend changing it out for this version, you will not be disappointed.

The design is good and the item worked well before it broke. The plastic used for the 3D printing is not suitable for the intend use. The shell is not solid and very fragile. Very disappointed that I paid so much for a fragile plastic piece.

It works as expected. One minor issue: I use a Harbor Freight small shop vac for the saw, and the hose from the shop vac connects, but it comes off under use. It's a very simple fix though: I used some electrical tape to keep the hose in place. I see no need for any design changes, etc., but wanted to let you know the solution in case someone else has this problem.

The dust collector works well when hooked to a vacuum. When not hooked up, dust and chips bounce off and are directed straight back at the operator.

Works pretty good, but I had the same issue as others when using the sliding function on my saw. The flap was just a bit too long and now has this nick which reduces the amount of dust that gets collected. Otherwise, works as advertised, just keep an eye on the flap when doing sliding cuts.

an update is necessary to the video. One of the reviewers noted that the flex tube threads on effortlessly in REVERSE! so it's not righty tighty, it's lefty tighty. I fought and struggled and finally gave up trying to thread it on. I then looked as reviews and noted the one telling us the 3D printed parts will not allow you to thread the tube on. He also told about doing it as reverse threads and BAM...absolutely completely effortless!! So far I love it because it's the ONLY adapter I have found so far that allows me to attach the vacuum pickup tube from my Craftsman shop vac. This adapter works perfect!! So yea, I'm pleased with this. We'll see if I have the struggle with a blade change that some others have noted. Even if I do, it's worth the extra step to have a good vacuum system in my small shop. I like also that you included and extra piece of shroud material.

I'd say the dust collection chute reduced my expelled dust compared to the standard Dewalt built in by about 90% . That which got by the collection was just nuisance dust, something I can easily vacuum up. I love this product.

The stopper on the slide broke in half and fell off allowing blade to to back and hit black part with clear plastic hose causing it to blow apart when blade hit it. . It didn't last 20 min .

So much better than the stock dust extractor!! There’s a learning curve in order to not chew up the neoprene rubber, but manageable. The included spare rubber sheet will come in handy after a few more careless cuts. 100% worth it!

The instructions were thorough and the parts installed very well. I needed to widen the fence slightly to accommodate the rubber boot. Not a problem, just a comment. Since installation, I have cut 60 plywood parts at both 90 and 45 degrees and estimate it collects 90+ percent of the dust compared to 50% with the stock system. I'm very satisfied with its performance.

Dust collection is greatly improved, pretty good design. Two sticking points for me are that the flexible tubing included in the kit could be longer in order to get the connection point off the top/back of the saw. Also, the 3D printed material did not weld properly on my unit, and the surface of the interior was rough with a nest of errant strands of material that had to be sanded away before use.

So much better than the factory dust collection. While this does bit catch 100% of the particles, it is a HUGE difference. I did notice that cut soeed does play into the amount of dust the shroud is aboe to collect, slower = better.

Love the design and how well it collects dust. Not so thrilled about the material its constructed out of. I use my sliding miter saw to install stair banisters 5 days a week. I started using this shop nation dust collection port 18 months ago, and I am now on my third one. They crack and chip very easily due to small cutoff ejections and accidental colliding of the fence and dust port. At $62 delivered every 9 months Im not sure if I will keep buying them. I think the proof of concept is there and I would love to see them injection molded or possibly 3d printed with a shock resistant material.

On March 7, 2026 I ordered a dust collection chute. It arrived on March 16, 2026. Easier to track on USPS website than the SHOP app. No written installation instructions included. Installation video is too fast and hard to follow. New dust collector is a slight improvement from old. I have a new DeWalt DWS 780 with a new 100 tooth 12 inch blade hooked to a 3 hp vacuum.

I misread the number on my Dewalt 790. I heard the instructions on the installation video to check the number, and installed the rubber flap on the part with the four screws. When it wouldn’t fit, I contacted customer service who was very polite, but said since the rubber flap had been damaged by the screws, it probably wasn’t returnable. My fault entirely. I asked if there were plans to make one for the 790 so I could enjoy the product. She wasn’t aware of any plans to make that model.
I should have made sure before I ordered and installed. Lesson learned. Still think it’s a great product. Just can’t use it.

The only hang up was at the post office. The label printing was incomplete as the the first column was mostly missing so I'd check your printing. I was able to do a re-delivery and picked it up this morning.
