The saw itself is one of the best in the industry. The only reason I didn’t give it five stars is that the dust collector on it is absolutely horrible. It might gather 5 % of the saw dust. I bought an aftermarket collector that collects around 90% with a vacuum attached.
I also changed the blade to a 100 tooth Diablo. One of the best blades in the industry.

I installed this kit on a DWS782. Installation was straightforward after watching the video. Works great, but I did have to slide the right upper fence out a bit. The fence caused the rubber flap to contract the blade and chew it up a bit. My mistake for not noticing sooner. Using a magnetic bit helps with installing the chute.

I ordered one and install was easy and fast. I was cutting 45s when a piece that i cut broke the plastic. So I ordered another one and today same thing happened once again. Cutting 45s for a frame and the cut off piece smacked it and shattered the corner of the plastic and tore the rubber

It sucks in an excellent way. The one fault I thankfully caught before destroying the vinyl/rubber scoop was that on thicknesses or widths beyond a 2x4 you better be damned sure you’ve moved the slide to full in. If you don’t you’ll slice the scoop and ruin it.
The replacement from ShopNation is grotesquely over-priced but cheaper solutions are available ANYWHERE ELSE.
I don’t care for this as it prevents me from doing a super shallow cut along the upper face to minimize tearout.
This is a fault in the design, but cannot be solved so far as I can figure.
Learning how to work with it is essential. Overall, it does a bangup job of shuttling the cutting dust straight into your dust collector or shop vac solution.

It works good, but not as good as I had hoped., I think the rubber boot on the end of the collector should be longer. I think that would help collect more dust and chips.

Did not install it. Was reluctant to remove the factory-installed rear blade guard, which DeWalt recently upgraded to metal from plastic precisely because the plastic was getting broken by material kicked occasionally off by the saw blade.

Huge, and I mean HUGE improvement over the factory dust collection tube. It also allowed the saw to be moved closer to the wall since I no longer need space for a vacuum hose to be connected behind the slider bars. The only downside I have noticed, and it's not much, is that the new dust collector has to be removed (or significantly loosened) to change saw blades. Not a big deal for me, it might be for you.

My only issue is that one of the adapters has broken due to lateral stress that I applied. You did mention this may be an issue so I cannot really complain. In the future you may want to go with injected molding to increase the strength of the product. However, cost vs. benefit may be an issue. I still like your product and will buy a replacement adapter in the future. Have a good day, Sean.

Installation is easy enough if you watch the video. What is not said, is that on the DeWalt sliding miter saw, you have to widen the opening of the fence by about 1/2" on each side. Otherwise, the rubber flap gets caught in the blade. I'm glad they sent 2 flaps because the first one got trashed. As for dust collection, It's good but not great. I'm sure it's better than stock.

It's all great. I have run into a snag. Two of the screws that I need to remove have stripped. I used to tools the video called for. I even double checked. Can't remove the Gard. So I can do the install. Not sure what to do next. If I can get them out? then what next. Those screws will need to be replaced. Have not heard form De-Walt yet. So now My 780 is down for the count. Hopeful I will find a solution soon. I need my 780 for my next project. I'm not saying it's anyone's fault. The screws are in there pretty tight. If you have any ideas? I'm all ears. I'm very sure if I can get past this part it will be awesome.

As far as dust colletion goes, is the best I have seen and experience in the market. The only down I saw is that it gets in the way of my zero clearence fence I created, the rubber dust collector gets stock and I already cut though it. Now that I know I am more careful, and glad they included two in the box!!

Finally tuned in the DeWalt 718 for my garage / shop. The dust collection now is vastly improved, clean up is a breeze with almost all dust going into dust collection rather than on everything else. Video shows cutting MDF, notorious for dust producing. Thank you!

Its better then what comes with the dewalt but not as great as advertised. it catches about 70% ..which is better then the OEM. trying to adjust mine it snapped so i had to CA glue it back together so be careful when you install

A bit disappointed with performance. Estimate that it’s capturing ~80%. Have a new DeWalt vacuum and dust deputy hooked up. Still have to complete a pretty major clean up after a session of cutting.

Very good at dust collection but must be removed to change the saw blade. I did not follow recommendation by vendor and used a dremel to open up the throat to allow blade removal.

Installed on the DeWalt 780. Using a 6.5hp Rigid Vac (have 3 dust collectors in shop) for mobility. In use since 1/1/25, not one that writes a review after 30 minutes of working the tool. When I cut aggressively (fast) I lose a little dust collection. When I operate at a slightly slower pace my collection is above 95%. This system works very well, some might call it outstanding. I have emphysema and copd from military service and have a great desire not to breath in dust. This fits my bill and then some. Thanks for a great product!

Received it today. I am SHOCKED at the difference. With just a Dewalt Shop Vac I could HEAR the difference as soon as I turned on the vac. When I cut wood, every bit of sawdust went into the vac - NOTHING remained on the saw or workbench.
Installation was simple - recommend using a real torx screwdriver rather than the torx driver that came with the saw.
Other than order confirmation, there was no communication regarding shipping information, but I guess we are getting spoiled by the minute-by-minute updates from some of the larger companies. This would be the only improvement I could suggest, but the performance of the product far outweighs this inconvenience.

Item works ok. Not as good as I hoped it would be. Still a fair amount of sawdust around. Not much you can do, to avoid miter saw dust. They charge way too much for a 3d printed item as well.
