Dust collection is a significant improvement over the OEM piece of junk and a worthwhile investment. However, it still allows some dust to discharge straight up around the outer edge of the rubber. The rubber does not make contact with the insert plate when the saw blade is fully down. If it did make contact, most of this extra dust would be eliminated.

Great quality product. Unfortunately it did not work for me. I cut a lot of tall nested crown (7-1/4”) and the part kept me from cutting crown all the way through. I had to remove it. I feel like the dust extraction is okay but I was hoping for more dust suction from system. I paired it with a dust extractor but still had quite a bit of dust on saw table and fence.

I love it, but is it 100 percent effective, no. The next observation is the blade change. It seem to get in the way of my blade changes. I never tried changing the blade with the factory guards and dust extraction, but looking at their system, it looked worst. Thank you so much, and as I said "I love it."

Install was quick and easy. Printed collection pieces didn't fit the standard shop vac hose without some sanding. I haven't used the saw since so can't comment on actual dust collection but am confident it will be better than the stock DeWalt setup.

The adapter came fast. It is really well designed, well built, and was super easy to install. I built myself a cart for my 780 to include a shop-made collector between the saw and a small shopvac. The combo is AWESOME!!! My cart has flip up side wings, t-tracks, and storage in the front for scraps and cutoffs, and now proper excellent dust collection. If I could give 10 stars I would.

I ordered the adapter for the DWS779/780, unfortunately I have the DWS782. Not knowing that my saw was completely different than the DWS780.

I was skeptical when ordering from face book but took a chance. Am not a bit sorry, installed it and it worked perfectly collecting 95% of the dust. I demonstrated it to a friend of mine and he was impressed and wanted one. I ordered one for him and installed it on his machine and now he's one happy man. Neither one of us needs to sweep out from our miter saws nearly as much as we used to besides not breathing all the dust.

I haven't gotten to use it much since I installed it, but I am not sure I love the way my shop vac hose sits along the top and back of the saw. It moves around a lot and the hose end pulled out of the connection. I think that is the type of connector I have so I need to play with it more to figure out the best way to position everything. I haven't used the zip ties yet because I don't know where I want it to sit. In terms of install, overall it was easy and quick. The only concern was the screw under the saw blade. It took me a minute to find it and it was hard to get to. I think the video moves past this too quickly, and I would have appreciated more of a zoom in on where those two screws are at that point. The shipping and everything was great. This is the second time I have purchased from you and I do watch the videos regularly. I recommend your products. Keep up the shop greatness.

I figured I would like this just from seeing it's performance in the YouTube video but I'm actually blown away. I can almost get away without wearing a dust mask (I'm big on safety so I still will). It collects so much of the dust and the fact that it actually shortens the overall depth of the saw so it fits on my workbench better is amazing. The flex hose also makes it so I have multiple options with where I connect my shop vac hose to. I can't imagine how much time went into designing this to get it right but it was worth it even though I was initially hesitant to pay it's hefty price tag. Perfection doesn't come cheap. If you're hesitating to pull the trigger on this I highly recommend unless you enjoy wearing and inhaling man glitter and having to clean it up constantly so it build up everywhere like it does on the saw without this dust chute. Thank you shop nation for creating this necessary upgrade!

Installation was easy but I figured out that I may have to uninstall it whenever I swap blades out to sharpen one.
Installation complete, tested it. The rubber shroud got cut up in the blade. I realized I had the upper fences too close together for the design of the collector shroud. The shroud had pulled out of the groove and holding screw resulting in a bit of damage to the rubber. I fixed that and it works okay.
I work with trim molding and smaller pieces and like the upper fences close and often use a zero clearance fence. The rubber shroud keeps getting caught up in this fence and cut up and pulling away from the holding screws. It's like the holding groove needs to be deeper and maybe a change in the screw size. I can live with the tattered rubber shroud but pulling away from the groove and screw possibly up into the blade guard bugs me.
I really like the positioning of the hose. It takes 1-2 inches of the length of the machine which is nice in my shop where I have a tight aisle between benches. Not having the saw's handle hanging out to bump into is nice. I don't think that aspect is really pointed out much. So many furniture makers like me have small shops where inches count sometimes.
The actual collection is nice; better that the original tube but not what I assumed folks were raving about in the reviews. I was dreaming of zero dust, but such is life.
The attachment fitting to connect a standard hose fits perfectly. What a surprise in a world where it seems like the plan is to design dust collector fittings so they don't match into anything.

It worked great sucked 90% of the dust up , The only problem I had is human. I had a piece of wood get caught and fly into the dust collector and break it into pieces now I need to order another one, but that’s on me. Other than that It’s great.

Complete failure. I thought at first it was what I was looking for but when a piece of wood flew up from cutting (which happens fairly often with certain materials) it blew it to pieces. So I’m pretty sure I deserve a refund or something to compensate cause now I’m left with no working dust collection.

Looked like a great product and was an easy install. Only problem was my own. Right after installing I quickly grabbed a small cut off to test and on very first cut attempt I had a piece kick back into the dust collector or blow it up into a million pieces so I never got to see how well it actually worked. My fault though. Just disappointed never got to really try it.

Overall it is a great product and works as described. Fit easily on the saw. I feel if you messed with the shape/size of the vinyl material, it would be more effective. Small change but over all it is a great addition that keeps the workspace clean for the most part. Thank you!

It definitely works better than the factory parts but it’s not the perfect solution. It kind of throws the dust that isn’t collected back up in the air towards you rather than behind the saw. I’m also nervous about it breaking during use with it being so close to the blade. Bonus points for regaining some much needed space behind the saw.

I've installed the dewalt version on three saws and it seems to be a massive improvement over the factory solution. I have two festool kapex saws and would rate the shop nation dewalt upgrade to as good or better than the Kapex dust collection. So glad I tried them.

The dust collection is somewhere in the 95% range. So much better then the OEM dust collection. I wish there was a better way to attach the hose somehow. It does hang over the motor pretty good without using the provided zip ties. Going to try it for awhile and see how it goes. Overall I would give it two thumbs up. Great job ladies and gentlemen.

I am very happy with the product overall. I can’t fault the design and it is a significant improvement to the saw. Only thing I would like is the option to get this in PTEG, PC, or nGen filament. Those materials will increase the cost of the parts but I would be willing to pay more for the durability.

I had one of these for quite awhile that took much longer to receive. I got a little adventurous one night and ended up grenade-ing my first one and had to order another as my shop was turning into a dust pit. Got this one very quickly and the shop is clean again!

Worked great at first. The replaceable rubber piece was in the way while cutting 5-1/4” baseboard vertical, and eventually got cuts in it. My first replaceable rubber piece eventually came apart after 1-1/2 days of trimming a house. I modified my replacement piece before install, but lost some dust collection.
