The DeWalt DW718 Sliding Miter Saw Dust Collection system from Shop Nation is fantastic. The DW718 is an older model saw so the install was a bit different from the video provided. However, the product material is durable and the device does not affect saw operation. I paired this device with an automatic vacuum switch which allows my saw and shop vac to work in tandem. I highly recommend the Miter Saw Dust Collection system.

Too brittle, 3D print quality is poor and does not allow for Dewalt quick connect vacuum adapter despite this is meant to replace the factory dust collector which does.
When it broke the plastic chunks flew over 30 feet away. This is major hazard to gain a small dust improvement. Not worth it

Easy straight forward install. Definitely collects more saw dust than the stock system. Based on the glowing reviews I perhaps set my expectations too high. While it is an improvement I can’t say it’s getting 80-90% of the saw dust. I’d say maybe 60-70% at best. It does help to pull the saw all the way out and push the blade across the cut. Gets the dust chute/deflector in a much better position to catch stuff. While it hasn’t completely won me over I’d likely recommend it. In fact I already did. Just don’t expect a miracle as you’ll still have a clean up task at the end.

I took the blade off so I didn’t get cut to loosen the two screws. Then started the screws. I thought I needed to put the blade back on but found out it can be removed and I tightened the screws and put the blade back on. Tried it out cutting samples and it worked excellent to remove the sawdust. Glad I bought it. Big improvement from the useless one that came with the saw from Dewalt. Thanks.

It was easy to install. It did however rub on the guard linkage but additional washers and a longer screw solved the problem. It clearly picks up more dust than the original factory setup. Not sure what percent it captures but a lot better than nothing

The stock dust collector didn't function at all. Once I installed the one from Shop Nation, it was like a night and day difference. This one actually works really well, I would highly recommend it.

This unit went on my older DW718 Dewalt - everything went together as explained on the how to video. I'm very pleased with how it went together and how it works. Oh by the way it works so much better than the dust collection apparatus that originally came with the saw - Hands down.

My company manufactures antenna systems for the amateur radio cummunity, military and civilian emergency operations centers. We cut a LOT of aluminum and plastic on our miter saw, and I have to say that this device scoops up the shavings! The OE dust collector let most of the shavings hit the floor. This device funnels the shavings away from the blade and into my vac very effectively. Nice design with an excellent fit. Highly recommend for anyone that is tired of sweeping the shop floor.

Wow, what a difference! Already had a 5hp Clear Vue dust collector connected to my miter saw station but continued to have quite a bit of dust on the bench and surrounding surfaces. I swapped out the stock Dewalt (DW718) dust port & tube with the Shop Nation system, and I was amazed at how well it performed! I connected it to my 6.5hp shop vac and it works like a champ on its own. Turn on the dust collector, and together they catch about 99% of the dust. I couldn't be happier!! The fit was perfect and performance, absolutely outstanding!!

Install video is very helpful. Works good on 3/4” stock or thicker. I would estimate it catches roughly 80-85% of the dust and chips. I would buy again. That is a lot of debris I don’t have to clean up or breathe.

The product I ordered arrived in a very reasonable timeframe and was easy to install. The installation video helped however installation was pretty self explanatory. A little dust is still visible but it is a substantial improvement over stock. Hands down.

Fantastic- havent tried bevel cuts that i read some mixed review on but just freakin cutting a 2x4 square - this thing picked up 98% of the dust.
Exceeded my expectations. Only minor complaint was having to put it together but Im sure that would have driven the price up and I think it was a smart trade-off.
Quality parts used - nice. 3D printed shoot had a little rough patch on the inside but it dint make any difference.

While it's better than stock, it leaves a lot to be desired. I only ever see it being used with straight cuts. For some reason it doesn't perform well at angles. Even on straight cuts it leaves a lot of dust behind. I have a 718. Lot of dust seems to blow out below the base. I have a 6hp shop vac connected with 2" hose. Plenty of suction for sure. Can't say for certain, but sure seems 3D printed.

Rubber dust catch (air floor director-for the lack of a better name) was cut over half way through in the first cut of a 4x4 piece of lumber. It would have been nice to be notified of potential problems when cutting larger materials such as 4x4's. The product looks and feels well produced and the install was easy and no problem with that just the fact that i only got one cut out of it.

Works as advertised. Greatly reduces dust by about 95%. Only downsides were 1) Hose very hard to thread onto adapters but after great struggle got it and (2) I had to remove my zero-clearance fence as it prevents the rubber collector flap from doing it’s job. This was the biggest disappointment, but probably worth the sacrifice for the dust collection. I can do fine cuts on my table saw.
