This is my second unit. First unit inexplicably shattered.
New unit went in nicely. I used original torx screws. I built an extra work area in my spare garage with automatic vacuum and piping. Much less dust.
Brian C.
This is my second purchase. The first chute got blade poisoning thru user error.
Would be nice to be able to install this with the blade removed. If my dust collection was not greatly improved by this " SheWee"...I would not have repurchased!
Donald M.
Hooked up with original manufacturer screws. My cuts before installing upgrade resulted in much dust.
Upgrade reduced the dust considerably. My vacuum goes on when saw goes on and goes off shortly after saw stops.
David
It works, but could be improved. Adding a collection port to the rear of a zero clearance insert would improve it's effectiveness.
Jeffrey P.
Works great, will come to you first for future needs
Jaime R.
It fit like a glove. Easy to follow the instructions. Great product. Will purchase your dust collection when I upgrade to the next miter saw.
Plans are great also.
Jeff J.
It does what it was advertised to do. There is much less dust around so long as I remember to turn on the vacuum. Will be interesting to see if the new dust collector with better suction will work even better with it.
Steven S.
I bought the wrong one I need to return this one and get the right one
Jared U.
Product works great! My saw went from a dust blowing turd to dust sucking monster.
paul A.
have not had the time or opportunity ti install yet.
Cody S.
Great product! Made a noticble difference in dust collection. Easy to install and looks great.
Bob T.
Overall print quality was good. I was not able to get the holes to line up with the factory holes on my saw and could only attach the chute with one screw. It also was not clear on the site description (although I found it later) that you must remove the chute anytime you want to change blades. Admitted this is not often, but an annoyance anyway.
Donald G.
Excellent design, reduced dust significantly for my Ridgid. Thanks for saving me hours of modeling and printing!
Michael A.
Good product, Every so often piece of wood flips up and breaks the dust collector attachment. So I need to reorder.
Wes B.
Fit was perfect, dust collection is better than the stock but like stated in the video in the details, it’s as good as it can be with the clearance. I am happy with the increased collection. It does make it a little less convenient for blade swaps as the dust collector has to be removed prior to removing the blade.
Robert G.
Some printed instructions would have been helpful. The video was a little vague. Also, the rubber dust deflector needs to be deeper. I'm still losing a bit of sawdust that manages to fly below it.
Richard W.
Always a quality experience. Thanks!!
Jim C.
Just have to be careful with cutting smaller pieces as it can get kicked into the dust collector and potentially damaging the dust collector
Steve S.
seems to be doing what it is supposed to do
christopher g.
Guardscworks great. Using a shop vac and had to ad a extra hose. With only one hose it had enough suction it just pulls the rubber flap in. Once adding the extra vacum hose it works great.
Jimmie B.
Thank you it works a lot better than before keep up the good work
Marc Z.
Have purchased three of these. Ordered 1 the first time early after it was released and same issue most others have had. Off cut gets shot into it and it shatters. Purchased 2 more because of a sale and since then both have broken from off cuts. Dust control is improved however I'm guessing rigid didn't make the OEM part as long as the shopnation version for this reason.
Kenneth M.
Went in quickly without a problem. Works good.
Kenneth
It really cleans up my mitersaw station.
Wesam A.
It doesnt fit my ridgid saw
Roger W.
This is my second dust collection boot for my ridgid miter saw.
What a difference this make in my dust collection!
Brad p.
Works really good, but it was hard to install had to remove some stuff on the saw to get the blade back on.
Brian L.
Product works as advertised. Suck up the dust!
Michael
Would work perfect but I chose the weong one thinking
it would work
My fault. Well built
Ron R.
Horrible return experience. Ordered the wrong one. My fault. But I've been unable to do a return because I have no label and no one in support is reading/understanding my emails. I was going to order the right one but at this point I'm unsure if this is the kind of support I can expect.
Donald F.
Installed on my Rigid 4231
Christopher C C.
The polyethylene sleeve often gets caught by the blade especially with thicker wood. Are you able to just get the polyethylene sleeve replacement.?
Thomas F.
Can't say about it's performance. It didn't fit my miter saw. My mistake for not checking
Dustin M.
Fit great! Huge improvement!!
Nathan F.
The rubber flap caves in on itself when vacuum tuns on. Just using a rigid shop vac . The rubber should be more stiff otherwise it’s good
Robert A.
Works really well. Terrific upgrade
Al M.
Didn’t fit my rigid saw
Steven L.
Excellent dust collection east to install.
Tom S.
This add on is fantastic. The only down side is that it is nearly impossible to install. I took the blade off to install it, only to find that I can’t put the blade back on. So I have to take the dust port off, install the blade, and then try to secure the dust port again. Definitely not a quick job. Sure wish there was an easier way to do this.
Sam C.
Works great. A little tough putting on. I may be a pain putting on a new blade. If only there was a way to make it easier.
Ron F.
Much improvement with just the bag out on location. I haven't tried it yet with dust collection, but with most of the dust now captured I am thinking it will be even better. the only down side is changing blades is more difficult, but I don't change blades too often so the improvement out weighs the the pain to change.
Vlad C.
Broke within a day of usage,
Piece of wood got inside shoot, and the whole thing just exploded
Seems to be made out of cheap plastic
Will not recommend buying, but everyone makes their own decision
Prior the accident, seemed to work fine for few cuts. Very disappointed!
Marlene D.
Complete, quick assembly, works well.
Jason M.
This is a great upgrade to a great saw with a terrible dust collection design. Like others, I've had a blow-out from scrap shooting into the chute, so I ordered a replacement - Travis and team did a great job. I've also had the flap get caught and chewed up on the spinning blade, and Travis and team gave me a link to get a replacement roll of rubber - again, great. My concern now is the dust flying out of the sides when I cut. I've used a large shop vacuum and a small one, and dust still goes out the sides like crazy (although better than with the Delta original piece), is there a fix for this?
John R.
Worked fantastic in trapping 98% of dust..could not be happier….but, I had to replace it (at my cost) because if a large piece of wood, like an inch x inch, hits it the plastic shatters. When I called, they were nice, but said that does happen often, and warranty does not cover it.
Needs to be made of sturdier material….but, it really does put practically all dust in your vac!
William E.
My wife took out the last one I installed cutting a leather dog chew!! Go figure!
I'm having trouble getting the new one installed. It doesn't seem to fit correctly, I can't get the screws to engage and there are gaps around the chute connection to the saw.
Don R.
It was a major pain in the ass to get the two little T-25 (not T-20 as mentioned in the video) screws removed to take the old chute off. Putting them back on, however, was an absolute NIGHTMARE! This, though, was NOT Travis' fault by any means. It is simply due to the design of the Ridgid dual-bevel "sliding" 12-inch miter saw #4251. Whoever designed this saw got nearly 100% correct. They just really dropped the ball on the placement of those two screws. I did finally get it assembled and attached but, due to my own ineptitude, one of the end-most screws holding the rubber flap in place didn't get a good enough bite into the rubber, so it sits outside of the groove at about a 30° angle. Apparently, this isn't an issue, though. The collection of dust, now, as compared to before I installed this chute, is night and day. Almost literally as I can now immediately see after a cut due to there not being a cloud of dust floating in the air by my saw, like there used to be. THANK YOU, TRAVIS! It took me a long time to go ahead and make this purchase because I felt that $50 was a bit too high. Actually, when you first released them, I believe the cost was $45. Either way, I I felt it was just too expensive. I finally decided to make the plunge, though, and am so glad I did. It is DEFINITELY worth the price! Especially with all the R & D you had to do to make it as close to perfect as possible. AWESOME JOB!
Mike S.
This is the third collector I've had for my Ridgid dual bevel 10 inch sliding miter saw. I have had many problems and will share them. the only way for me to install is to lay the saw on it's back and tie wrap the blade guard up. Use a flash light to find the torx screws and install. However, the thickness of the factory chute mounting area is about 1/16 inch thick and your's is about 1/4 inch thick. Therefore, can't get enough threads engaged to hold the chute in place. I had to go find longer screws that are 5/8 inch long. They are cross point and their length holds the dust chute firmly in place. They are also easier to install not requiring a difficult torx setup. Also, your 2 inch angled chute required me to remove several pieces of the saw to get it to clear so I could attach my shop vacuum. The longer screws with cross point heads gave me reason to keep your dust chute. Mike Smith
MILTON M.
The new dust collector has greatly improved the amount of dust that is being collected by my shop vacuum.
Richard G.
It fits and works
Rick B.
Slightly more difficult to install but it installed like oem. Works 100% better than oem!!
Ryan L.
Always a great product
Ryan
It is a great product. Fast shipping
Chris R.
Fast shipping. The dust collection device reduces dust by about 90%. I have full miter range with it installed. The bevel range is limited but I rarely do bevel cuts so it’s not a problem for me. It was hard to install the screws since they are so far up into the guard and they are torx screws. I have an extra long Philips driver, but not an extra long torx driver. I cobbled together a bit driver and a couple of extensions. If I find I need to remove the dust collector frequently to do 45 degree bevel cuts I might replace the stock torx screws with Phillips head screws, but I doubt that will happen
Harrison S.
This is one of the best upgrades you can make to your shop. The dust collection performance is significantly improved—even with just a 5HP Rigid shop vac. However, a word of caution regarding off-cuts: while my spouse was cutting a piece of wood, the off-cut caught on a tooth and was forcefully thrown into the dust collection port. Unfortunately, this caused the upgraded dust collection part to shatter completely. We were pretty disappointed, as we expected this upgrade to be more durable—especially since it’s not uncommon for off-cuts to get pulled into the dust system. It’s something to keep in mind if you’re considering this upgrade.
Tom S.
Part as received works great, a small alteration makes it even better.
Shaana M.
Initially I didn't think it would work but once my husband assisted, I got it installed properly and I love it! It works great and definitely cuts down on dust and chips getting everywhere! Love it!
Charles A.
works great!!! now to hook up a dust collection system
Colonel C.
I can't get over the amount of dust this collects. I recently made over a dozen cuts in cedar and there is barely anything on the saw. Should not have waited as long as I did to buy one.
matthew n.
Works well but it would be nice to have the ability to change the blade without taking it off.
Russell C.
Works nuch better than stock one.
Marshall B.
This is my second one. Works as advertised.
Michael R.
Does not fit my saw! And you don’t offer any that does!!!
Ron M.
Very easy to install and works as promised!!!
Philip J.
This is my second dust collector for my Rigid miter saw. The first one was damaged by a kickback that was my fault. I would rather order a new one than go back to the factory dust collector. The shop nation units are so good.
Edward G.
Works great. Definitely a big improvement from stock
Brandon D.
Works as advertised!! I’m happy to not have so much clean up after a lot of cutting! I highly recommend getting one!
Chris D.
No product can capture 100% of the dust, but this product GREATLY reduced it. Great design, fast shipping. I’m 100% satisfied and would buy it again. Including an extra flexible shield for when the first one wears out was a very nice and unexpected plus.
John H.
First one exploded into tiny shards. Hopefully this one holds up better.
Hector S.
Good communication
John K.
Installed and it mated up works well
Chris S.
Didn't fit and had to pay for shipping it back
Philip J.
This product fixes all the issues with the Rigid miter saw. I was able to replace the dust catcher and appreciated the well thought out video. It told me I needed an extender for my driver and it guided me through the install process. I had ordered the elbow to connect the shop vac and hose bracket but haven't used those yet. I installed it and had to wait a couple of weeks before I could use the saw. Today I got it all hooked up and ran through many cuts. It works like a champ and cut the dust way down in my garage. I appreciate the hard work that went into making this design flawless. Seriously, it does an amazing job and catches more dust than I thought it would. Well done on this design and your products
Tyler G.
Blade rubbed against chute when it’s installed, wasn’t expecting that.
Dust collection isn’t much better than the stock chute.
Can’t use with my shop vac as the flexible rubber piece just folds in on itself.
Drew H.
Great product. Very pleased
John S.
Works great so far.
Joe N.
Next to impossible to install. I should have placed a new blade on before adding the shoot. I can't imaging having to install this again. As far as it working, blah just ok.
Timothy O.
I ordered the part for a Rigid Dual Miter saw. The part I received did not work on my model. It took multiple messages to obtain a return shipping label. I returned the product but have yet to see a credit for my return
Steve H.
It works good but the rubber skirt gets sucked into the blade and blocks the chute. Might need a stiffed material.
Patrick B.
Great product. Second time purchasing as I blew up the first one after a piece of scrap blew out and got caught. Pricey mistake, but worthwhile to keep the mitre saw clean.
john m.
fractures too easily from those rare bits hitting the back of the shoot.
Rick D.
Can’t cut 45* with it on, so it’s of no use to me.
Soterios M.
Great product, super easy to install, and love supporting a local maker here in the United States.
Jason H.
MISSING PARTS NO RESPONSE FROM SELLER . SHOP IS NOT THE SELLER AND NO HELP. CONTACTED SELLER NO HELP. PRODUCT IS GARBAGE SAVE YOUR MONEY DO NOT BUY COMPLETE RIPOFF
David H.
I installed the dust collection device on my Ridgid miter saw. Everything works as advertised. I am extremely pleased with the device.
Martin J.
Broke the first time I used it.
Yes it eas installed correctly and fasteners were tight. Tried messaging on Instagram and no response.
Going to contact credit card company.
Absolutely JUNK!
Michael B.
Boy are you right. My Ridgid 10" miter saw is a confetti machine. I installed your chute and, as if by magic, dust actually got collected. Seriously, the design is great. The flexible "flap" continues to direct dust when riding over large cuts. I'm a 3d Maker and this is one of the best applications of the technology I've run across (even counting the Bat-a-Rang I printed over Christmas).
Well done.
William W.
Did not fit or work as advertised
Steven B.
Far better than the stock chute.
John V.
The dust collector works well, but I have two issues.
1) Although I don't change blades on my miter saw often, the need to first remove the dust collector is annoying.
2) A more serious problem is the outside edges of the rubber piece that gathers much of the offshoot from the blade, continually gets sucked into the dust collector and effectively closes the gaps up to the blade. Either need to trim it a bit or add some kind of stiffener.
Samuel C.
Works well except when miter is at 45 degrees. It bumps into the fence at the end of the cut.
Larry B.
Will fine if I don’t blow a piece of knot through it!
Michael M.
This work great considering this saw has terrible dust collection from the factory. This is a must have upgrade.
Kevin E.
I’d love to tell you what I think about it, but I’ll have to get it installed first. It’s almost impossible to get to the screws to install it.
David E.
A noticeable improvement to dust collection. By no means perfect but so much better than not having the chute. 2 issues for me. First off it’s fragile, one small off cut sucked up will shatter the plastic and render it useless. Ask me how I know. Also hinders the bevel capacity. Saw obviously wasn’t designed for a chute like this. Sure you can open the fence to max width but then you lose some stability with taller pieces. Is it an improvement… absolutely. Is it perfect, nope. Am I still buying them after breaking them… yep. Just my honest opinion.
Alan D.
I’m pleased with the fit and ease of installation; it does require widening the space in the fence to allow for clearance for the chute so that will impact my ability to cut shorter pieces that need support from the fence. Also, I haven’t yet noticed a discernible difference in the amount of dust collected, but I suspect that’s due to my crappy shop-vac setup rather than an issue with the chute. We’ll see after I install a better shop-vac and hose setup. Overall I’m happy with my purchase.
