Broke within a day of usage, Piece of wood got inside shoot, and the whole thing just exploded Seems to be made out of cheap plastic Will not recommend buying, but everyone makes their own decision Prior the accident, seemed to work fine for few cuts. Very disappointed!

This is a great upgrade to a great saw with a terrible dust collection design. Like others, I've had a blow-out from scrap shooting into the chute, so I ordered a replacement - Travis and team did a great job. I've also had the flap get caught and chewed up on the spinning blade, and Travis and team gave me a link to get a replacement roll of rubber - again, great. My concern now is the dust flying out of the sides when I cut. I've used a large shop vacuum and a small one, and dust still goes out the sides like crazy (although better than with the Delta original piece), is there a fix for this?

Worked fantastic in trapping 98% of dust..could not be happier….but, I had to replace it (at my cost) because if a large piece of wood, like an inch x inch, hits it the plastic shatters. When I called, they were nice, but said that does happen often, and warranty does not cover it. Needs to be made of sturdier material….but, it really does put practically all dust in your vac!

My wife took out the last one I installed cutting a leather dog chew!! Go figure! I'm having trouble getting the new one installed. It doesn't seem to fit correctly, I can't get the screws to engage and there are gaps around the chute connection to the saw.

It was a major pain in the ass to get the two little T-25 (not T-20 as mentioned in the video) screws removed to take the old chute off. Putting them back on, however, was an absolute NIGHTMARE! This, though, was NOT Travis' fault by any means. It is simply due to the design of the Ridgid dual-bevel "sliding" 12-inch miter saw #4251. Whoever designed this saw got nearly 100% correct. They just really dropped the ball on the placement of those two screws. I did finally get it assembled and attached but, due to my own ineptitude, one of the end-most screws holding the rubber flap in place didn't get a good enough bite into the rubber, so it sits outside of the groove at about a 30° angle. Apparently, this isn't an issue, though. The collection of dust, now, as compared to before I installed this chute, is night and day. Almost literally as I can now immediately see after a cut due to there not being a cloud of dust floating in the air by my saw, like there used to be. THANK YOU, TRAVIS! It took me a long time to go ahead and make this purchase because I felt that $50 was a bit too high. Actually, when you first released them, I believe the cost was $45. Either way, I I felt it was just too expensive. I finally decided to make the plunge, though, and am so glad I did. It is DEFINITELY worth the price! Especially with all the R & D you had to do to make it as close to perfect as possible. AWESOME JOB!

This is the third collector I've had for my Ridgid dual bevel 10 inch sliding miter saw. I have had many problems and will share them. the only way for me to install is to lay the saw on it's back and tie wrap the blade guard up. Use a flash light to find the torx screws and install. However, the thickness of the factory chute mounting area is about 1/16 inch thick and your's is about 1/4 inch thick. Therefore, can't get enough threads engaged to hold the chute in place. I had to go find longer screws that are 5/8 inch long. They are cross point and their length holds the dust chute firmly in place. They are also easier to install not requiring a difficult torx setup. Also, your 2 inch angled chute required me to remove several pieces of the saw to get it to clear so I could attach my shop vacuum. The longer screws with cross point heads gave me reason to keep your dust chute. Mike Smith

Fast shipping. The dust collection device reduces dust by about 90%. I have full miter range with it installed. The bevel range is limited but I rarely do bevel cuts so it’s not a problem for me. It was hard to install the screws since they are so far up into the guard and they are torx screws. I have an extra long Philips driver, but not an extra long torx driver. I cobbled together a bit driver and a couple of extensions. If I find I need to remove the dust collector frequently to do 45 degree bevel cuts I might replace the stock torx screws with Phillips head screws, but I doubt that will happen

This is one of the best upgrades you can make to your shop. The dust collection performance is significantly improved—even with just a 5HP Rigid shop vac. However, a word of caution regarding off-cuts: while my spouse was cutting a piece of wood, the off-cut caught on a tooth and was forcefully thrown into the dust collection port. Unfortunately, this caused the upgraded dust collection part to shatter completely. We were pretty disappointed, as we expected this upgrade to be more durable—especially since it’s not uncommon for off-cuts to get pulled into the dust system. It’s something to keep in mind if you’re considering this upgrade.

Part as received works great, a small alteration makes it even better.

Initially I didn't think it would work but once my husband assisted, I got it installed properly and I love it! It works great and definitely cuts down on dust and chips getting everywhere! Love it!

I can't get over the amount of dust this collects. I recently made over a dozen cuts in cedar and there is barely anything on the saw. Should not have waited as long as I did to buy one.

Works well but it would be nice to have the ability to change the blade without taking it off.

This is my second dust collector for my Rigid miter saw. The first one was damaged by a kickback that was my fault. I would rather order a new one than go back to the factory dust collector. The shop nation units are so good.

No product can capture 100% of the dust, but this product GREATLY reduced it. Great design, fast shipping. I’m 100% satisfied and would buy it again. Including an extra flexible shield for when the first one wears out was a very nice and unexpected plus.

First one exploded into tiny shards. Hopefully this one holds up better.

This product fixes all the issues with the Rigid miter saw. I was able to replace the dust catcher and appreciated the well thought out video. It told me I needed an extender for my driver and it guided me through the install process. I had ordered the elbow to connect the shop vac and hose bracket but haven't used those yet. I installed it and had to wait a couple of weeks before I could use the saw. Today I got it all hooked up and ran through many cuts. It works like a champ and cut the dust way down in my garage. I appreciate the hard work that went into making this design flawless. Seriously, it does an amazing job and catches more dust than I thought it would. Well done on this design and your products

Blade rubbed against chute when it’s installed, wasn’t expecting that. Dust collection isn’t much better than the stock chute. Can’t use with my shop vac as the flexible rubber piece just folds in on itself.

I ordered the part for a Rigid Dual Miter saw. The part I received did not work on my model. It took multiple messages to obtain a return shipping label. I returned the product but have yet to see a credit for my return

It works good but the rubber skirt gets sucked into the blade and blocks the chute. Might need a stiffed material.

Great product. Second time purchasing as I blew up the first one after a piece of scrap blew out and got caught. Pricey mistake, but worthwhile to keep the mitre saw clean.

I installed the dust collection device on my Ridgid miter saw. Everything works as advertised. I am extremely pleased with the device.

Broke the first time I used it. Yes it eas installed correctly and fasteners were tight. Tried messaging on Instagram and no response. Going to contact credit card company. Absolutely JUNK!

Boy are you right. My Ridgid 10" miter saw is a confetti machine. I installed your chute and, as if by magic, dust actually got collected. Seriously, the design is great. The flexible "flap" continues to direct dust when riding over large cuts. I'm a 3d Maker and this is one of the best applications of the technology I've run across (even counting the Bat-a-Rang I printed over Christmas). Well done.

Far better than the stock chute.

The dust collector works well, but I have two issues. 1) Although I don't change blades on my miter saw often, the need to first remove the dust collector is annoying. 2) A more serious problem is the outside edges of the rubber piece that gathers much of the offshoot from the blade, continually gets sucked into the dust collector and effectively closes the gaps up to the blade. Either need to trim it a bit or add some kind of stiffener.

Works well except when miter is at 45 degrees. It bumps into the fence at the end of the cut.

Will fine if I don’t blow a piece of knot through it!

This work great considering this saw has terrible dust collection from the factory. This is a must have upgrade.

I’d love to tell you what I think about it, but I’ll have to get it installed first. It’s almost impossible to get to the screws to install it.

A noticeable improvement to dust collection. By no means perfect but so much better than not having the chute. 2 issues for me. First off it’s fragile, one small off cut sucked up will shatter the plastic and render it useless. Ask me how I know. Also hinders the bevel capacity. Saw obviously wasn’t designed for a chute like this. Sure you can open the fence to max width but then you lose some stability with taller pieces. Is it an improvement… absolutely. Is it perfect, nope. Am I still buying them after breaking them… yep. Just my honest opinion.

I’m pleased with the fit and ease of installation; it does require widening the space in the fence to allow for clearance for the chute so that will impact my ability to cut shorter pieces that need support from the fence. Also, I haven’t yet noticed a discernible difference in the amount of dust collected, but I suspect that’s due to my crappy shop-vac setup rather than an issue with the chute. We’ll see after I install a better shop-vac and hose setup. Overall I’m happy with my purchase.

It is great. The only issue I had is with the vacuum being to powerful (a big dewalt) and bending the rubber flap. I got to modified it for the rubber not to be sucked by the vacuum. Can share pictures.

Great so far except the rubber flap keeps getting pulled into the chute then blocking the material. I'm just using standard rigid shop vac.

The fit and finish of the dust collector is great. It looks like it's actually part of the saw. I can't wait to see how it really works next time I have to use the saw.

Parts are excellent quality and the dust collection is greatly improved. The packaging is exceptional and shipping was fast. Overall very good experience.

It definitely improves dust collection. Having a long T20 screwdriver is a must. The dust chute rubs on the blade which was not expected, it doesn't seem to affect the operation of the saw. While installing didn't take long -about 20 minutes - I think I got lucky installing the two T20 screws because visibility is nil. Can't bevel cut at 45 degrees but that was explained upfront. Changing the blade will be more difficult since it requires the removal of the chute. It does the job that it was designed to do, which is improving dust collection. I can see where Ridgid/Delta compromised on their design in order to make it where you can do full bevel cuts and easier blade changes. If I was to make bevel cuts often, this chute would not be a good option.

only...tiny tiny drawback...hook up suction ans suction was such that the black diverter chute (flex chute closest to blade) got sucked inside tube and altered flow......have to figure some way to keep it more ridgid so that does not happen.

LOVE the product. Works GREAT !!! but I would like to see the rear of the chute reinforced a little better. If I am cutting small pieces, sometime they will be kicked up into the chute and I have broken 3 already. Over all a GREAT product.

Finally got to use my shop. Creating 125 small Christmas trees for the kids in a day care behind my shop. The dust collector worked great, could actually see the dust being pulled into the collector. Much less dust in and around my saw. Thanks for the great addition to help keep me and my shop cleaner.

5 or 6 cuts it looked good. Cutting a small piece that popped up and shattered the chute. Plastic is too brittle.

I’m sorry to say that the installation of the new Rigid R4251 dust was a complete failure for my saw. The pictures attached will illustrate what a disaster it was. I installed the new collector last night and then tried it out today. I was cutting a 22.5 line on a 2x4 and it made a cut for about 3” and then the whole thing exploded. I was not hurt though completely startled! I also have little bits of plastic all over my garage workshop! I followed all the installation instructions and tried the saw several times before attempting to cut the board. All seemed to be in order until it wasn’t! I really wanted to improve my dust collection on my saw but this doesn’t seem to be the devise unless there was something defective about the one I used. I am interested to hear what your thoughts are on this issue.

It collects more sawdust than I expected. The threads for the mounting screws were a nice touch, and a necessity. I wished I got this 3-4 years ago, my work area would have appreciated this.

I am very happy with how the system collects dust, it works great. I do not like the idea that in order to change blades, I need to remove the system. That seems counterproductive to me. I also suggest that you make the collar a little deeper on the hose adapter. My hose keeps falling out. I am planning on getting a dedicated hose that I can quickly connect to that will be away from all the movement on the saw. I am sure that will help.

Works fantastic! Went from heavy dust all over to barely noticeable. Before I even cut the first piece of wood, I could actually feel the suction from the dust port. I purchased "The works" but find my original dust port worked well and didn't interfere with the handle so I left that on and will keep the Shop Nation one as spare.

I thought you should know that, as I told you in a few emails, when you call something "the works" and show everything in the picture, including the expandable hose, you should include everything! Including the expandable hose. Not exclude that then charge them again to reorder and shipping. You asked I submitted.

I've had the chute for over a year and overall feel it has improved dust collection. Most of that time it was it my garage workshop and i was just do basic 90 degree cuts. took it to an on site job and realized it does limit movement of the bevel - If you have the saw tilted to 45degrees the cute gets caught on the edge of the fence guide. Which requires you to lift the blade up move pass the fence, then lower again instead of doing a smooth pass. Was an ok work around until I didn't lift high enough, resulting in bumping the chute into the blade. Chute is now in multiple pieces. So if you don't use the bevel feature - buy it. If you do a lot of bevel cuts, i recommend sticking with the stock chute.

Vast improvement in collecting dust. Purchased a long handle Torx 20 screwdriver that was a big help in the installation. Highly recommend!

Unfortunately i didnt have a chance to try the dust collector due to an error.. but the company is shipping me a new one . So ill be waiting for it and until then i can give a full review on the product.

Hope this review finds everyone well! It's a great idea but a tough execute. I will say the dust chute does improve collection a lot. It does have a few limiting factors such as cut depth of work pieces and the effort of changing a blade on your saw. You must remove the boot each time you have to change the blade and it being 3D printed the longevity isn't there and in my case I was cutting 1-7/8 cherry and a small piece of an end cut blew out and broke the back of the chute very easy. As said before great idea definitely could you some looking into I think I'll stick with the OEM chute and do a little more cleanup and not purchase another one.

I love this dust collector. It works amazingly and the customer support team was awesome with sending me a replacement!

If I would have known just how horrible the saw dust collection was going to be on my Ridgid miter I would have chose another brand. Shop Nations retrofit kit is a game changer. 100% of the saw dust is not captured but my guess is by the lack of saw dust after a dozen or so cuts at least 75% of the saw dust was captured into my shop vac. That is a game changer. I was to the point where I was not using the miter saw because of the mess, now it is almost a non issue. Two thumbs up!

This vastly improved the dust collection.

Dust collection is great but miter cuts are impossible on baseboard larger than 4” tall and for crown molding. I find myself removing the piece when transitioning between jobs.

The dust collector shoot works well one I was able to get it installed. The hose adapter was worthless. The adapter that came with the saw is much better.

The part works well, but I work a lot with rough cut or old barn wood and twice now a fairly small piece of wood has hit the part and it shattered. I’ve bought 2, shattered both, and won’t likely get a 3rd.
