This replacement dust chute is designed specifically for the Metabo/Hitachi 12" Double Bevel Compound Sliding Miter Saws. It significantly enhances dust collection efficiency without limiting your saw’s capacity or range of motion. The chute is also easily detachable if you need to restore full capacity after installation. Note that compatibility is limited to these models, and fit on other saws is not guaranteed.

NOTE: In order for this aftermarket dust collection part to be added to a C12RSH & C12RSH2 models you will need to cut off (permanently remove) a part from behind the blade. This aftermarket product will not work correctly if you don't do this!

Seems to work a lot better than the factory chute . I did have to saw that spot off the saw that have . No biggie tho. Old saw no warranty left . I think its mostly just on there to keep the unthinking from trying to saw very small cutoffs and losing body parts .

This thing doesn't work any better than the stock chute as far as dust collection. Also, it is too long and binds up the saw from going fully to the bottom of the cut.

I had to saw a peice off saw to get blade to go all the way down . Doesnt affect the operation of saw tho. Its old and out of warranty any way .i hope for a great improvement of dust collection .

It works exactly as claimed. It makes a significant difference in the amount of dust. It doesn’t get everything but it gets most of it. It works best when you’re moving the blade as opposed to just doing a chop cut.
It was very easy to install, and I did not mind cutting out that piece at all as it really never did anything anyway.
I’m very happy with it. It was a good purchase, a good price, and it works!

I purchased the dust collection attachment for my Hitachi 12" Sliding Miter saw. I simply sawed off one irrelevant part and the dust collector fir snug and perfect. THe difference in dust collection is superior considering how much dust the saw produces. Very happy with my purchases. Freaking awesome. Captures 95% of dust. After installing, my saw went from blanketing half my shop to just leaving a a few chips in a 1 foot radius. I was going to build a dust box/hood type thing… but probably gonna skip this thing does such a great job.

I never thought I would be able to contain the dust thrown from my hitachi sliding miter saw. With the factory chute and my dust collector attached it would catch 50% (maybe). After modifying the saw (cut off the arm at the base of the column as it shows in the installation video) and installing the Shop Nation dust chute I was proven wrong. This thing is awesome. I would rate this at the top of my “most bang for the buck” list. It doesn’t catch every particle, but 99.5% is OK in my book.

Followed instructions with no issues, but after install Rubber lower portion blocked laser alignment, and old dust collector worked just as well.

It is awesome. After watching this thing throw a cloud of dust for 10 years i never thought it would be possible to capture 95+% of it. But this does. Like it mentions in the installation video, i had to cut off the piece that sticks out frim the base to the blade (not sure of its purpose) but it sas easy enough and wow, what a difference.

The product itself works great- definitely noticed a big improvement in dust collection. The hole for the red thumb screw didn’t quite match up with the saw so the screw is slightly askew. However it doesn’t affect the performance at all.

I couldn’t be happier. This thing worked way better than I expected. Honestly i was skeptical and hesitant to spend 40 bucks on this little thing. I was wrong, it’s worth every penny. I have a dust collection system in my shop and before adding this the stock dust collector did ok at collecting dust, but I still had a lot of clean up at the end of each day. After installing this there is very little dust after my cuts. My shop has been so much cleaner at the end of the day.
The install was very quick and easy. Took less than 10 minutes. It was straight forward and fit perfectly. I did not need to modify my saw so that made it quicker I’m sure.

I used to have a huge dust problem on my walls, and my vacuum didn't seem to make a difference. But after installing the Metabo 12" miter saw dust collection chute, I'm blown away by the results. Now, I might see a few stray dust specks near the saw, but my walls are spotless. The chute really delivers. I'm loving it!

I was a bit skeptical when I first opened the package because the chute for the Hitachi saws is not a large or complicated piece. However, it improves dust collection dramatically. Directions and video made installation easy, even with the need to remove a part from the saw base to accommodate the new chute. The piece is sturdy and fits with close tolerances to boost the performance of your OEM chute to a level that will meet or exceed your expectations.

The instructional video is very good and quite helpful.
I did experience some difficulty in lining up the thumb screw and the mounting hole on the saw. The fit was very tight, meaning that hole for the thumb screw did not line up, about a millimeter off. I was able to get the thumb screw started, but had to use pliers to screw it into the hole.
Love the way it takes care of the dust from the saw.

I wish there was a way to respond without providing a rating as the truth be told, I have not used the product on my sliding compound miter saw. Why? I have a Hitachi 12" which requires the removal (via cutting/grinding) of an area of the cast frame. I have been a bit nervous to do this "operation." I plan on tackling this in a few days.

Looks and feels like a good product. I asked ShopNation to look at making one for this saw model. I was so excited to hear that the project was completed.
I purchased one immediately and installed it within a few days. The hardest part was removing that piece in the rear. That hurt...but the final results was worth it.
The only issue that I experienced was the red securing nut did not line up with my saw hole. It was just short. I was afraid to use a mallet to make sure that the adapter was seated well...but the red nut never lines up. I had to make a little more adjustments to get it to work.
All in all, I was torn between 3 or 4 stars. In the end, it is a good product, but the most important part that secures this adapter required some more work. Oh well.

Albeit a good design, I think it could be flared more laterally each side by about 3/8." I would also put a FULL disclaimer that forged parts of the saw itself need to be cut in order for this to function, or create a skirt that has a slot to allow it to function with the forged tail intact.

The wait was worth it! Seemed like it took forever to get the Metabo version in stock. But once it arrived it literally took me longer to read the instructions than installing it. Huge impact on the dust. NOT a gimmick. It really exceeds the expectations.

Product performs its function flawlessly. Dust from the cut is deflected upward into the airstream. Unfortunately, the fit is off. The pressed in nutsert and accompanying thumb screw does not line up with the oem hole in the saw ( this model is advertised to fit multiple product numbers, maybe there is a slight difference.) Elongating the oem hole in the saw allows the product to install as intended, but with a little too much play, and I had to turn my blade by hard to wear away a high spot in the blade groove to prevent any accidental contact when the blade was spinning, the air gap is very small (this may be due to slightly different blade sizes from various manufacturers) overall, my lungs are happy, and it wasn’t any harder to install than any other accessory to a tool from another manufacturer.

The stock dust collection on my Metabo was terrible. It was so bad I was considering buying a Bosch miter saw just so I could get a SN dust collector because at the time it wasn’t available for Metabo. SN dust collection is a thousand percent better. Great job

Excellent addition to my Metabo HPT. I had a SN chute on my Dewalt that worked ridiculously well until I broke it while making a cut that I should’ve not tried. The piece of wood was not secured, as well as I thought, and the blade chucked the wood into the dust chute. But the good news is that I still have all my fingers and the Metabo HPT chute works as well as my Dewalt did.

No where on the site when i purchased this said i needed to hacksaw my saw in order to install this kit. in the instructions it said it can be returned for a refund. when i reached out they informed me there were be fees clawed back from my total original price. Also it came with missing parts. They send me missing parts.

Received order quickly and everything needed was in the package. My model saw required me to chop off a piece of the cast aluminum originally meant for kickback protection, but mine was faulty from the factory so it was useless anyway. When I inserted the chute into the saw, I had to make another customization; I had to drill out the hole for the thumbscrew so it would line up properly. Then I used a washer on the thumbscrew to keep it secure. See pics attached. Someone else said they filed some of the SN chute to make it fit which would have been a better idea but you live and learn. The dust collection is improved but not 100% perfect, though it doesn’t claim to be. Just be prepared to make changes on the fly to make it work.

I had been waiting for a dust chute to fit my particular saw for quite some time. As soon as it was available they contacted me, as promised. The chute arrived quickly and they even produced a very good video on installation. When a thumbscrew was inadvertently left out of my kit I never had to contact them. They caught the oversight and put one in the mail saving me the trouble. I wish more companies today were so proactive. I'm impressed.

I last posted at the end of 2023 and first made contact with you 6 months prior to that to see if you were going to build one of your awesome dust collection tools for the Matebo 12 in compound miter saw (C12RSH2 (S)). If I had a 3D printer and your engineering skills I would just build my own but I dont. Im willing to pay double the price and be your beta test for fitment and use. What does a fellow maker need to do to get one of these bad boys? Come on man, feel my pain and dust problems. LOL
