Dust Collection Chute for Metabo/Hitachi 12" Miter Saw

chute on new add-on wouldn't clear the structure that is part of the saw.

This works exactly as stated and while it isn't 100% its so much better than trying to use the saw with the garbage factory dust collection.

This is my second dust chute for the same saw. This was no fault of Shop Nation product but I did a stupid rookie mistake by trying to cut a piece of 2x4 without a good grip on the wood. Needless to say the wood shot up and broke the dust chute it broke the chute into pieces. BUT this product is a big 10 in my book. Does a great job minimizing the dust and is very efficient. Never going to capture 100% but it’s such an improvement over manufactured poor attempts to redesign an effective system. Hats off to Shop Nation. You guys have a solid future in my humble opinion. What i disiked is the first one I purchased broke the first time i used my saw. It was my fault rushing and causing kickback. What i liked is itwas replaced at 50% off. Thank you!

Was not sure if this would work any better than what I had done to improve the dust collection but I have to say it work's GREAT!!

This attachment makes this saw a 100% better, so worth the money.

Great product and very well thought out. However, I do want to recommend something to that could help with attaching a vacuum. The dust port on the C13RSH3 is 2 1/4 inch OD and there are not a lot of options in terms of putting a shop vac hose on it. Currently I am using a Rockler flexiport 2 1/2 inch click-connect held on by a rubber coupler. Maybe design a coupler that friction fits on at could accept a normal 2-2 1/4 inch hose. Other reviewers can use my idea as well.

Install was very easy, works great, catches a lot more dust.

I use my chop saw everyday for many many cuts and this is my 3rd one. I have broken the first two due to issues that I caused I think. The thing helps collect more dust then the factory one and my amount of use generates a large amount of dust. If it didn't work I wouldn't keep buying them I think I have found the reason they get damaged so maybe this one will keep me going for a long time. Happy Customer

If there was a Nobel prize for dust collection, you guys would win. I now don’t hate my miter saw for the amount of dust it spews all over the shop. Excellent product!

Fit was excellent, very easy to install, I have a Hitachi which I needed to adjust a portion of the saw by cutting a small portion which had been foretold before I purchased it. It was no problem and my dust spread isdown about 95%. I LOVE IT.

The dust adapter for my Metabo C12RSH2 fit perfectly. The installation video and instructions were simple and easy to follow. As mentioned on the web site, a small cast aluminum blade guide needs to be cut off the saw but it is easy to do. I'd estimate a 70-75% improvement in capturing dust just by replacing the dust chute.

Was able to remove the Hood that I used to catch all the missed saw dust

I've got an original C12RSH miter saw that I put this on. What a huge improvement over the factory setup! You will need to cut off the cast aluminum that holds the plastic blade guide at the back of the saw, but my saw is about 15 years old and I couldn't care less. This product works great!

I like the way it works, does good, but I have to flip my fences up to use, it won't go through them . Space between them to small. Otherwise works good.

The dust collection chute installed in minutes and appears it will be much more effective than the factory one. Looking forward to seeing it in action.

I had one of these dust chutes on my old Hitachi 12 inch miter saw and it dramatically reducesd the dust. When that saw died, I replaced it with a new Metabo saw and the first thing I did was install a new one of these dust chutes. We run tight production deadlines and not having to clear off saw dust while making repetitive cuts is a huge plus.

Works great. Easy to install. I had to remove for blade change. But so problem. One screw. It definitely helped the dust collecting.

This works great! Be advised that the C12RSH model also needs to be modified. You will need to cut the casting as shown in the photo.

The product I ordered was not what I received. I was told I received the product that i ordered but I didn’t order the model I received. I have since returned that model and asked if you could exchange it for the correct model but was told that you don’t do exchanges but I would receive a refund. I have received that refund but now I have to pay full price for the model I need instead of the sale price which Is why I purchased the original one because it was on sale. Great product. Makes a big difference.

Shipping was not great. Took over 2 weeks to get because it got rerouted by usps. Quality product and well made the 3d print is spot on and fit perfectly. The clearance from my blade is within a couple millimeters and catches everything my dust collector can pull. Time to upgrade my dust collector so I can see its full potential.

I'm rebuilding my small shop and adding a bunch of new tools, one of which is the Metabo HPT 12" miter saw. Dust collection on this unit has been a bit of a journey. The Shop Nation chute is a simple upgrade that has made a big improvement to dust getting kicked out during a cut.

Easy straightforward install. Great improvement in the dust collection — before Shop Nation, this saw had the worst dust collection I’d ever worked with. However, the fences on this saw do not slide out horizontally, they swivel up and out. While the saw/ShopNation combo works great with the sliding head locked in the full back position, folks need a heads up that the fences must be swiveled out of the way to use the saw’s sliding function.

Came with a link to instructional video, which if your buying this product you will definitely recognize the YouTuber explaining how to install it. I didn't have to remove anything with a hack saw. Just a couple screws to remove the old dust. Chute. Q couple new screws to install this bad boy and it was done. Less than 5 minutes. I mostly do straight cuts and common miters and it has never got in the way. Huge improvement in dust collection. I would recommend this to anyone using a miter saw inside.

This does actually make a difference, I was hoping it would make more of a difference but any help with dust collection is welcome. There still will be plenty of dust around the saw but it does what it says and is easy to install, no complaints!

This works much better than the original or a temporary chute I made from a piece of rubber I had. It does make it a little more difficult to change the blade as it closes the gap between the blade. Installation was as easy as it gets. Will recommend my son get one for his saw.

I was unaware I would have to cut a part off my saw to install the dust collector when I purchased it. That info would have been nice to know before my purchase

This dust chute was as good as advertised if not better. The fit and finish were perfect for my saw. I am impressed with how it works and would gladly recommend it to anyone in my woodworking community.

**Beware** In order for this aftermarket dust collection part to be added to a Hitachi saw, you will need to cut off (permanently remove) a part from behind the blade. Their web site only stated this requirement for Model C12RSH2, but it is also true for Model C12RSH.

I'm running a Metabo miter saw in my new shop. The shop is nearing completion and I really needed to get this saw into position so I could work inside. I've been working outside on a Dewalt saw mounted on a portable stand. Anyway, getting the Metabo set up ment addressing dust collection. I ran all flex tubing for now and have my blower exhausting outside the shop. However, using a miter saw is a mess in spite of any dust collection if your running the factory setup. I ordered the dust collection port. Shipping was fast and the installation was easy. Having the Shop Nations port on my saw made a world of difference. Now, at least 95% of dust created by using my miter saw is being captured and pulled through my dust collection system. What a difference it made. I have a hood behind my saw and I plan on putting a curtain around it to keep the small amounts of dust passing my collection system to stay inside the hood so it can be cleaned up later. It just happens I have a Mini Split on the wall just above my miter saw. I don't want dust getting into the intake of my heater. Thanks Shop Nations for making this kit available. You've saved my shop as well as my health.

this is a game changer! I had other plans to include using a dust collector for this saw and the shop nation attachment handled 90-95% of duct collection when including a shopvac! So easy! Very satsified. By the way my miter saw is a Metabo 12 in miter saw. Very effective and installation was very simple

Worked great, super easy to install and provides a marked improvement over the stock one.

I'm in the middle of building a new shop. Building is finished and I'm building cabinets, drawers and doors. Dust collection is halfway complete. I just recently finished my miter saw station. I'm using a Metabo HTP 12 inch saw. Using it makes such a mess inside the shop that I switched to using my Dewalt 10 inch saw that's all a mobile base. I could move it outside eliminating the mess inside. That was OK until it turned winter here. So, a good alternetive was in order. I built a hood around my Metabo saw. That didn't help much. Having seen the adds for Shop Nations add-ons, I took the plunge. The add-on kit arrived a few days later and I installed it immediately. The install was easy. NOW, FINALLY, I could work inside the shop. A test run was in order. I needed a wall mount for my dust collection blower. Some 2 x 4's and a dozen cuts later and the results of the add-on is very obvious. To say I'm pleased is an understatement. The difference in the stock flap and the add-on flap is like night and day.. Having made a dozen cuts using the factory flap, I would have spent several minutes cleaning up. The same number of cuts using the add-on flap, left virtually no dust at all. I simply pulled the vacuum hose from the saw a spent 20 seconds or so cleaning the back side of the saw. I am amazed! If your working with a factory flap on your saw, do yourself a favor and get one of these kits. YES. I was also skeptical. Not now!

Replacement Chute for my Hitachi miter saw clearly takes in more volume of dust collection than the original chute. Only drawback is having to remove the wings on my miter saw for clearance.

Fit perfectly on my older Hitachi C12LSH….probably 85-90% effective in collecting saw dust, but considerably better than what I had before.

Did not fit. I got the hole to line up, but then the shoot would catch the blade and wouldn't let turn. I tried a couple of time because I really wanted it to work, but didn't have any luck, so I returned it. Customer service was great. Easy to return.

Installation wasn't difficult although I did as per instructions have to hacksaw a piece off of my saw. Dust collection is not 100%, but did not expect that. Probably is a good 90% or so and much better than original.

Installation was a breeze. The dust is definitely reduced.

Seems to work a lot better than the factory chute . I did have to saw that spot off the saw that have . No biggie tho. Old saw no warranty left . I think its mostly just on there to keep the unthinking from trying to saw very small cutoffs and losing body parts .

This thing doesn't work any better than the stock chute as far as dust collection. Also, it is too long and binds up the saw from going fully to the bottom of the cut.

Does exactly as it was advertised. Makes a noticable difference in the amount of dust in rhe air, which is what I was looking for.

I had to saw a peice off saw to get blade to go all the way down . Doesnt affect the operation of saw tho. Its old and out of warranty any way .i hope for a great improvement of dust collection .

It does a pretty good job collecting 98 % of the saw dust.

It works exactly as claimed. It makes a significant difference in the amount of dust. It doesn’t get everything but it gets most of it. It works best when you’re moving the blade as opposed to just doing a chop cut. It was very easy to install, and I did not mind cutting out that piece at all as it really never did anything anyway. I’m very happy with it. It was a good purchase, a good price, and it works!

I've struggled with dust collection from the miter saw for decades. Your product has improved the situation drastically. It's not perfect but I would say it improved the problem by at least 85%. I am grateful for your product in my shop.
