I recently bought the Shop Nation dust collection system made for the Rigid R4222 twelve inch compound miter saw and after using it for a while I felt like it deserved an honest review from someone who actually works with this saw on a regular basis. Right off the bat I can say this system is a huge improvement over the factory dust setup. Anyone who owns this saw already knows the stock dust collection is not very good at all. It throws dust everywhere and leaves a mess no matter how careful you are. After installing the Shop Nation system the difference was obvious immediately. There is far less dust blowing forward and around the saw and my shop stays noticeably cleaner after cutting. The system itself is very well made and clearly designed by people who understand woodworking. It fits the saw like it was meant to be there and not like some universal add on that almost works. Everything lines up well and once installed it does not get in the way of normal saw operation. I can still make my adjustments and cuts without fighting the dust collection system. Performance wise it does a great job catching both fine dust and larger chips. It pulls a lot of the debris that used to end up on the floor or all over the bench. I still expect some dust because no miter saw setup is perfect but this is about as good as I have seen for this saw. It has made cutting a lot more pleasant especially during longer sessions. Installation was pretty straightforward. If you are comfortable working on your tools you will have no problem putting it on. The instructions were clear enough and nothing felt confusing or overly complicated. I did not have to modify the saw or do anything that made me nervous which I appreciate. The only real issue I have had is with the dust rubbers. I recently purchased some replacements and those seem to be the part that gives me the most trouble. Also.....we can't count out user error. They can be a little finicky and sometimes need to be adjusted to stay where they work best. They do their job when set right but they seem to be the weakest part of an otherwise solid system. That said it is more of an annoyance than a deal breaker. Even with that small issue the system as a whole is still excellent. I would rather deal with minor adjustments than go back to the mess the stock setup creates. The improvement in cleanliness and air quality in my shop alone makes it worth it. Overall I am very pleased with the Shop Nation dust collection system for the Rigid R4222. It turned a saw I already liked into one I enjoy using even more. If you own this saw and are tired of sweeping up piles of dust after every cut this upgrade is absolutely worth considering. I would recommend it to anyone who uses their miter saw regularly and wants a cleaner more efficient workspace. Thank you shop Nation Team for all y'all do. Job Well Done! Merry Christmas to all.

I should have ordered the threaded inserts. The parts replaced those which were broken when a piece of wood struck the chute. Be safe.

I bought the Shop Nation dust chute system for my Ridgid R4222 basically the second it came out around two years ago (2023). I am a fairly serious hobbyist woodworker--no good day ends without making sawdust, with my table saw and miter saw being the stars of the show. But recently the attachment bracket broke. It's a pretty heavy-duty part but I'm a pretty heavy-duty user (abuser?). I am thankful that I was able to order just the parts that I needed to get my dust collection back up and running for a fraction of the price of a totally new system--Shop Nation clearly stands behind their products for the long term. Prospective customers should not hesitate to trust the value of their purchase. Existing customers should consider contacting parts when their system fails--which in this world, everything will sooner or later (with Shop Nation, probably later). My wife was using my saw to cut some small trim and she didn't have it secured very well (she hates using this saw and is afraid of it for some reason.) When she went to make the cut the small trim piece flew back and broke a couple of pieces. So i ordered replacement items and back to normal. But going to keep a very watchful on the wife from now on. Awesome product and awesome service. Thanks
