Fit, made for the Dewalt DW715/716 12" Non-Sliding Miter Saw
Factory chute vs. Shop Nation
See the difference
Factory dust chutes leave a gap right where the blade throws the most debris. Ours is engineered around the Dewalt DW715/716 12" Non-Sliding Miter Saw to close it and steer chips into your hose, so they stop ending up on the floor, the fence and in your lungs.

FAQ
Questions, answered
Which saws does it fit?
It's made specifically for the Dewalt DW715/716 12" Non-Sliding Miter Saw. Pick your model in the selector above to get the right fit.
Do I need a vacuum or dust collector?
Yes. The chute steers debris into your hose, so you'll need a shop vac or dust collector connected to it to get the full benefit.
How hard is it to install?
It's straightforward. It bolts into the same spot as the factory chute, with no cutting, drilling or modification to your saw. Most installs take a few minutes.
Can I go back to the factory chute?
Yes. Nothing on your saw is modified, so you can put the stock chute back on any time.
How much of a difference does it really make?
A big one. The chute closes the gap where factory chutes let the most debris escape, so far more chips end up in your vac instead of on the floor, the fence and in the air. Read what 869 woodworkers say in the reviews above.
Short answer: Works well and I'd do it again. All parts were well made 3d printed parts.
Longer answer: I have an older DeWalt saw, so the mounting adapter didn't fit exactly right, causing the dust collection chute to rub against the left side of the blade. I did an interim fix of adding 2 washers between the right side mounting bracket and saw. It worked, but I contacted cusomer service to verify. They got back to me in 1-1/2 days. They said that I would need to sand the part, but didn't specify where. The attached photo shows dots where I removed a bunch of one flange, marked with blue dots. Since my original fix probably distorted the adapter, I additionally lightly sanded the center mounting boss (4 blue dots). I also only needed 1 washer under the right-side bracket. It works fine now.
It fits like a glove and seems to collect most of the dust! I still need to connect to a dust collector, but I would definitely recommend this product!
It seems I am unable to attach 2 videos but I wanted to show the before and after. I have a DeWalt DWS716 saw that, while being a great saw, has a dust chute that collapses under the static pressure of my shop vac. That always made a big mess. With this new dust chute the debris is more than dealt with. Easy to install (although the video is slightly different) I had it up and running in about 15 minutes. Works great.
The dust collection chute for the DWS715 is a well made and high quality product. I did expect better dust collection from it, but I think I was expecting too much. My previous dust collection chute did a little better job. It had only a flexible flap and a vac hose adapter. The flap opened wider and extended further so that is why it picked up more dust. The reason I abandoned that one is it got in the way on angled cuts unless I clamped it. I forgot to do that twice so I decided it was time to try the Shop Nation one. The new one's collection is good enough, and I'm happy I don't have to worry about it on angled cuts. The attached photo shows the amount of dust after making a single 2x4 cut. The 3/4" plywood extension fence I usually use doesn't help since it brings the cuts further away from the chute. I'm using a Rigid 6 HP vac (with Duststopper).
I was really excited to get this, I matched my saw model carefully to make sure I got the right one. But when it arrived, something didn't seem to fit quite right because no matter how I positioned it, the main piece pushed right into my saw blade. I emailed support, who got back quickly and said that I must have a "Type 20" saw and that the product wouldn't fit my saw without modifications. I was given the option to return the product for a full refund, including shipping, or to modify it myself. I decided to try modifying it, which required sanding down the piece hitting the blade and also drilling out extra space for the thumbscrew to fit into the threaded hole. Support said I would just have to sand down the narrow piece where the hose attaches (which is the location of the physical difference on this saw versus others, causing it to be pushed over in this way), but the part of the chute that actually hits the saw frame is the portion that attaches to the hose, so I'm not sure how much I want to sand that down. I will give them credit for offering the free refund, but I wish there was better communication on the website about the "Type 20" issue, since they are so adamant that you check your saw make and model very carefully or it won't fit. There is no answer yet as to whether a modified design for my saw is in the works, but I don't think it would terribly difficult to change the design slightly to fit as perfectly as their other models...
I had my doubts because the chop saw is one of the worst tools for dust collection. Before this i was using a cardboard box modified to collect dust. So needless to say i was excited to try this out. Followed the video which made the installation easy. Then i used a cedar board 11"w x 1.25" thick and it collected 90% shown in video. I did the happy dance. Then we made 2 plant stands & cut 90 cross cuts, same results. I shared this video with friends and they put in their orders. Excellent product.
This thing is awesome. Collects easily 95% of the dust. It was fairly easy to install and the video guides you right through it. Reasonable shipping rate/time. Overall I would highly recommend it to anyone.
Fits great and works amazing! Greatly reduces airborne saw dust! I have a DeWalt DW715, Type 2 saw I bought many years ago that didn't have a lower saw guard, so there were no screws to reuse for the new hub mount. The mounting holes were there, but not threaded. I was able to order (Parts Warehouse) some screws, DWB-330045-23, Screw Taptite, to install the hub mount. Everything was perfect after that.
This dust collection system is far better than the factory installed version. I immediately noticed a huge reduction in the amount of saw dust around my saw. The installation was quick and easy thanks to the installation video provided via a QR code that comes with the product (didn’t have to search the web for help). I especially like the quick release feature that allows for easy saw blade changes. Great product!
Rubber skirt is not low enough to capture dust when cutting 3/4" lumber. There is no significant change in dust removal. Very disappointed with product.
A fairly effective product and a big improvement over original system. There is still a fair amount of dust that is not collected (even when hooked to a powerful dust collection system). Installation was fairly easy. Thanks.
I was in shock at how different from
before and after I replace the piece.
As a new beginner woodworker, I was a little afraid to replace the part. I followed the video instructions, then attached the vacuum, and what a difference I believe I've gotten,98 percent of the wood dust is gone. Love it.
Great product! does a much better job of capturing the sawdust from my miter saw. Everything aligned and fit perfectly. The installation video made the install a breeze!
Beyond impressed. Build quality exceeded my expectations. After hundreds of cuts it left minimal sawdust behind on the bed. I will be recommending this to all my fellow woodworkers. Best system I've seen yet. And the customer service is top notch. I screwed up my shipping address and it was handled quickly and I received the product quickly. I will be outfitting more of my saws with this system.
I just wish I had bought this sooner! I've wasted too much time with "solutions" that just don't work or are clunky and in the way,
This grabs most of the dust and is very compact. Installation was easy and well documented in the video. I found that getting the 2.5" hose as close to the saw as possible helped improve suction quite a bit.
I bought these for the Sleep in Heavenly Peace, Austin, TX Chapter's Miter Saws. We share space in a warehouse with a company that builds solar panels and we needed to keep down the saw dust. I have this system on my personal miter saw and knew how effective they are. They have reduced the amount of saw dust by at least 85 to 90 percent.
Thank you Travis for your time and energy in designing these dust collection systems.

When set to left hand 45 degree miter, flexible chute hits the right hand backstop and saw blade will tear chute. Only solution I can see is to flip the piece being cut and miter from right side. Otherwise it does as advertised and improves dust collection.
I would indeed love to show a video but I don’t have anything recorded at this time.
However, I have to say that I have installed it to my saw and I am amazed by the difference. I’m currently making new doors for my outdoor shed. The trim I’m using is cedar and vinyl or pvc trim boards. The sawdust from the vinyl is normally everywhere. With this dust collector there is nearly nothing left behind.
The installation was well instructed and very easy to complete!
Thank you and continued success with your products.
I also would like to say how impressed I am with your shop build.!
Assembly was pretty straightforward, I did have a bit of an issue connecting the hose, but finally got it secured. I tested it out after I installed it and it works great. I can tell it will really cut down on the sawdust that ends up on my workstation. Cannot wait to really test it out.
Easy install, works like a champ! Its not even close how much better this does than the DW's effort at dust collection on this saw! Now its on to the zero clearance insert to complete the package. This this is so well made!
Easy install. Works great probably cut down on the dust by about 80%
Only thing that might be better is a wider mouth or more of a flare by the blade might catch even more.
It definitely made a huge difference.
