Our beginning
We are just like you
Building things in the shop is our happy place. But it didn't take long to realize there were all kinds of things getting in the way of that happiness: disorganized tools, messy layouts, and dust. Shop Nation was born in 2017 when I set out to build my dream shop and document the journey on YouTube.
My background in mechanical engineering means I'm always looking for ways to solve problems. I believe every workshop has the potential for what I call "Shop Greatness," achieved through intentional layout, design and setup. It didn't take long to realize I'm not alone, so for the past several years I've channeled that mix of passion and pragmatism into products that help people like me.
Small family business
From a basement to a 70+ printer farm
We're a small family business in the heart of Ohio. With only a handful of employees, we take real care with every product we make and every customer we ship to, here in the USA and around the world.
Our goal is simple: make your shop better so you can pursue your passion, and get you a little closer to that elusive "Shop Greatness."

Product development
Real problems, solved by people who have them
Every Shop Nation product starts in our own shop. Here's the full story of how we solved dust collection for the DeWalt DWS779/780, one of dozens of problems we've tackled for woodworkers over the years.
-
Spot a real problem
From our own shop, and from requests sent in by customers.
-
Engineer it properly
Designed with a mechanical engineer's eye, then prototyped until it works.
-
Make it in Ohio
Produced on our own 3D printer farm, not sourced from a catalog overseas.
-
Pack and ship it ourselves
Your order leaves our fulfillment center, handled by our own small team.
