The device actually worked quite well. It was easy to install, with a video to assist in the process. My only negative comment is with the adapter for the hose. It is a twist on connection, but there isn't much friction and it too easily twists off.

It does a pretty good job, but I still have a lot of sawdust on the floor. I also found out that, when I do 45 degree cuts in either direction, the rubber flap that is supposed to capture the sawdust gets hits the back rail, forcing it do deform and it ends up rubbing on the blade.

I'm finding that when using a Dewalt 12" 80T blade that has a 1" arbor and requires you to flip the included mandrel around for it to work causes the blade chute to bind the blade.
The attached video shows this. My best guess is that by shifting the blade chute to the left by 3/16" should better center it for a blade with a 5/8" arbor and better accommodate the newer elite blades with the 1" arbor.

The parts fit well, it was an easy parts change, and it has helped to reduce the dust at this chop saw. The "skirt" could be a little longer; I think it would help even more and still be out of harm's way. Something about the hose causes it to almost whistle and that is annoying; maybe a length of smooth hose would remedy that noise. Overall good experience

The video made the installation vey easy and the dust collection is definitely improved. I did notice when I cut a board at 45 degrees the rubber hits the fence and pushes it forward. When I brought the saw down the blade took a chunk of the rubber. I have the second piece so it’s okay and I’ll be aware of that the next time. Otherwise I’m happy with it

Fit on the saw was correct. The 2 1/2l” dust hose adapter was too small but I was able to reduce the outside of my male connector to allow a snug fit. It definitely an improvement over the fixed OEM dust shoot.

Is somewhat ok. Works very well in controlling sawdust much better than original DeWalt shroud except that it cannot be used if you swing the saw beyond 30 degrees left AND tilt the saw to 45 degrees bevel. The solid plastic of the kit hits the fence and the saw cannot be fully lowered.

Got my dust collection kit set up on my DeWalt DWS716 the other day, I'm very happy with it. Installation was fairly easy even with the blade still installed, and it does seem to catch more dust than the stock setup.
One word of caution, I had installed an auxiliary fence in front of the stock fence for zero clearance cuts, and with that fence being about 4" tall, it interfered with the flap on the new dust collector. It's not a design flaw or anything, just something to watch out for if you have made your own fence. In my case, it was bending the dust flap I to the blade at the bottom of the cut, which would have been no fun had I not checked the operation first before using the saw. A shorter auxiliary fence ended up working for me.

Took a while to ship, but arrived in about 10 days or so. Looks like a quality product although the shroud does get hung up on the fence. I need to slide the fence outward to accept it. Yes, the correct product was ordered and received for my dw715.

Picked this up to help dust collection on my DWS716, to be frank, I'm floored at the improvement in dust collection. The stock dust collection chute was so bad that I often times just stop using the vac all together with the miter and would just wheel it outside. I ran a few test cuts and there is an initial poof of dust when the blade plunges into the wood, however everything after that is picked up.
In regards to install, it took about 15m. The hardest part is just working the screws loose in a tight space with your knuckles close to the blade. All things said, it was a VERY easy install and money well spent.

My use for this is beyond cutting one bys or two bys, or even a four by, I’m an artist and cut log sections so it doesn’t capture all the sawdust in that application. But for regular work it’s great.

The adapter fit well and works better than the factory version. The only issue I had was the rubber dust shoot was too short to reach the end of the slot, but I happened to have some gasket material that matched, so cut a new one that fit perfectly. The one in the kit was 5/8 to short so the screws would not make contact on the ends.

My initial reaction when seeing your product, the “Dust Collector System” for Mitre Saws, I was pleased to see that someone was finally trying to do something about the dust that comes with using a Mitre Saw. In fact, I was so impressed with what I saw and read that I decided to purchase the “DW715/716 12” Non-Sliding Miter Saw Dust Collection System”. I must admit that I was a little disappointed with the amount of time between the time I placed the order and the time I received the product. Once the order was processed, I did receive a notification and provided with a tracking number. As I was anxious to receive the product, I tried to track the delivery of the product, but I got very little if any information at all. I must admit the tracking information provided by your supplier was not the best as it provided little or no information or the information was not updated very often by your tracking provider. However, that said when I got the item, I did do the assembly as per the video instructions and I must admit it went very well and it was a lot easier than I thought it would be. While I did have some questions with the installation, I did contact Shop nation’s Customer service and got all of the answers that I needed and was able to “SUCCESSFULLY complete the installation of the “DW715/716 12” Non-Sliding Miter Saw Dust Collection System” onto my Dewalt716 Miter saw. I was more astounded and ecstatic about how well the Dust Collector System performed on my initial 10 test cuts that I did with hardly any sawdust on the Mitre Saw itself or the work area around the Mitre saw. WHAT A FANTASTIC PRODUCT!!!! Wow thanks very much for creating this product, it will make a lot of DIYer’s very happy, I know I am ONE! I cannot say enough about the Customer services’ help that I received in helping to answer questions that I had about the “DW715/716 12” Non-Sliding Miter Saw Dust Collection System and its installation.
I have used the product, and it works I am very happy with it and I highly recommend it to anyone looking to improve “Dust Collection and Control” for their Mitre Saw. For your benefit, I have attached a few photos of the installed product.

Although this fits, I had to fiddle with it quite a bit; not sure if this was a defective unit or not. Had a project and wanted to try it and got it to work.
Even if this fit is wrong, it was worth the cost. Dust really only escapes at the beginning of a cut and after that nearly everything is captured. This was a massive improvement over the stock setup!

I bought Shop Nation DW716 model for my DW706 saw, even though Travis warns on website that it won't fit. Undeterred, (as an inventor myself, creator of the How Far Out level survey gauge and 1-Fence System), I fashioned a 1/2" spacer/interface between the hub adapter and machine casting to reposition the exit tube correctly for my model. (My spacer basically replicated the overall shape and interface details of the hub adapter to create the needed 1/2" shim space.)
The results are fantastic --- so effective that by attaching a 2" vac hose to the small flexible hose and adapter provided, I was surprised to find that this product works even WITHOUT vacuum suction! The force of the sawdust stream is so focused and powerful where the flow enters the boot that when I inserted the exit end of the extended hose into a small garbage can next to the saw, almost ALL the sawdust streamed straight into the can, with zero blockage of the pathway through the hoses.
ShopNation is working on a DW706 specific model, so probably better to wait for what I am sure will be an excellent product, but frankly, I doubt it will perform any better than my adaptation of the DW716 model.
The concept and execution details of the Shop Nation Dust Collection Boot are brilliant. I could not recommend it more highly.

I bought a new 12" miter saw, the DWS716XPS, and paired it with an automatic switch for a new dust extractor. Sadly, I was extremely discouraged by the saw's poor dust collection capability. When I found your site Shop Nation, and your product Dewalt DW715/716 12" Non-Sliding Miter Saw Dust Collection, I was hopeful but I did not think it would be of much use and therefore, when it arrived I didn't install it right away.

The Dewalt 715S Miter Saw Dust Collector I was sent had a neck that bent about 30 degrees to the right. When I tried to install it the transition piece would not go all the way through the back of the saw due to hitting the back right edge of the rear exit. It stopped about 1/2" from the bolt location.
I contacted ShopNation - Their only advise was "did you watch the video?" Yes I did - yours slip in easily - mine won't. Further requests for help were completely ignored.
I finally requested a return label - this was ignored as well. I am truly frustrated with such an irresponsible seller. Their customer service is utterly reprehensible.

This dust collector chute is awesome.
I made 30 cuts in a 2"×4" before and after installing the new chute. The before installation test (aka Stock) results were 99 grams captured and 38 grams not captured (aka loose) for an Efficency of 72.3% which was better than I expected. After installation, 146 grams were captured with 5 grams loose for an Efficency of 96.7%. The photos show the dust collected during the before and after, and the data and math. I strongly recommend Shop Nations chute!

The device works pretty well. It collects a significant amount of dust using my shop vac.
My only minor complaint is the quality of the fittings. I know they are 3D printed but they are quite rough and the connection with the shop vac is not great.
That said, it's the best product on the market for miter saw dust collection.

This device could have been perfect. Upon receiving the dust system, it fit together as designed . However, when it was installed the thumb screws were very hard to screw in. This is because the mounting plate "foot" for the screw was 2mm too long. This puts a twisting bind on the collector chute which forces the chute off center so that it rubs the blade. I had to file the "foot" down by 2mm which leaves a very thin hole for the mounting bolt. Also the rubber is 1/4" too narrow so that the end screws barely catch the rubber. I emailed pics and video for a solution, but never received a reply.

Finally had a chance to try this dust collection thingy for my DW715. Very impressed. For straight cuts it captures more than 90%. 45 degrees cuts it doesn't work as good, but still a LOT better than the stock chute.
