How about some build plans to go with your new dust collection chute?  I will say at least Makita made an attempt to improve the dust collection out of the box.  This chute solution will replace the stock upper dust chute that come on your Makita 12" LS1219L or 10" LS1019L Double Bevel Compound Sliding Miter Saw! You will see a HUGE improvement in dust collection efficiency with this upgrade - all without compromising the capacity or range of motion on your saw.  In the rare cases where it does get in the way, simply remove it via the (3) thumb screws in about 15 seconds!

NOTE: This solution is designed SPECIFICALLY for models LS1219L & LS1019L.  You MUST specify which saw model you have when ordering! There is no guarantee that this will fit any other saw.
