Overall, I feel this is great quality and should last a lifetime. It's threaded metal, not much to go wrong. I believe it's anodized and feels like it will not flake without being massively abused. The ONLY thing I can gripe about, and this is very minor and grasping at straws, is if you're expecting to use the rubber feet that come with this part, they're not held on very securely. A single screw is threaded through the rubber, which does not have any metal embedded within, thus when tightened pulls straight through. If you do not tighten the screws, the feet remain loose and may fall off. This is a moot point if you opt to mount this instead.

I thought this thing was too expensve for what it is. But I needed one, so I sprung for it. It is better than I had imagined! Very high quality aluminum with steel male threads. It's larger than I thought, too, which is good. Travis does a great job with his products.

the mounting clips did not support the weight when i placed it on the metal cabinet. I set the mount aside, removed rubber bumpers and installed 4 round magnets with a metric fastener. considering just using 2 of the magnets as all 4 make it very secured to the cabinet!

I bought the orange one. The black was sold out at the time. On the site, the black one looks like the writing is clearer and easier to see. However, once I got my orange one, I am happy to report that the white writing is super clear! I'm so glad! The product is quality and works very well! Only one negative I will mention is that the magnets on the wall hanger are not strong enough. It wants to slide down the side of my toolbox.

I am an organization freek and a horder of nuts, bolts and machine screws. When I saw this beauty I had to have one!! I have begun using it already. I'm thinking with two or three liters of Woodford Reserve I should be able to get through most of what I need to organize. Not positive, but I am willing to try. I really like that I could mount this puppy on the side of my main workbench for quick access. Great work Shop Nation. Come have some fun with me - and a good shot of Bourbon!

The item was packaged well, however I purchased the holder with the thread gauge. The magnets in the top and bottom holder were not strong enough and kept falling out.

I don’t use many Metric nuts and bolts so it will be very helpful. I’m going to have my grandsons use it to go thru a couple coffee cans of nuts and bolts I’ve accumulated over the years. With today’s prices it might pay for itself.

Overall, I like the quality of the materials. It looks and feels good and functions as expected. I like the extra mount so that I can put it on my wall. The magnets are strong. One accidentally fell out and got stuck to a nearby one and it was nearly impossible to pull apart. I'd recommend gluing it in.

After years of storing bolts and nuts in tiny bins based only on whether they were big or small - regardless of thread type- I finally have a means to sort them according to gage and thread (fine or coarse) I am truly delighted at how well it works. Here's a quick tip- if the bolt or nut starts to thread on or in the fixture- don't stop at one or two turns. Keep going until it either threads smoothly, or snags. That will tell you you either have the right size, or (if it snags) try the next size- it might be metric.

The thread gauge is great and very high quality. I also got the magnetic anchors which are not quite strong enough to hold the gauge in place - they slide around a bit if my tool chest gets bumped.

Some of the screw or bolt holes would only allow the screw to just start. I had to run a tap through them so they would work properly. I believe what ever they applied to the entire body for a finish had to be chased from the holes. Other than that it works well!

I have this mounted out of the way, but it is so useful in determining thread count and bolt sizes. Having to go to a big box store to use their jig is a pain. Now I can size at home, order online, delivered to my shop and I don’t have to go down the mountain to the store! I love it.

The thread gage is great! Extremely beefy. The fit and finish of the aluminum plate and the different thread gages is perfect. The nifty way the wall hanger works is slick. Keeps the gage in its place, but still portable if need be.

The 1/4"-20 female thread was not working. I thought maybe something was wrong with the threads on the bolt that I was trying to check, so I tested your gauge with a positively known 1/4"-20 bolt, and it would not go in. A clean-up with a 1/4-20 tap fixed it, but at this price, it should have been perfect.
Jury is still out out the necessity or usefulness of the 3D printed mount.
