Factory dust chutes leave a gap right where the blade throws the most debris. Ours is engineered around the Ridgid Dual Bevel Miter Saw to close it and steer chips into your hose, so they stop ending up on the floor, the fence and in your lungs.

FAQ
Questions, answered
Which saws does it fit?
It's made specifically for the Ridgid Dual Bevel Miter Saw. Pick your model in the selector above to get the right fit.
Do I need a vacuum or dust collector?
Yes. The chute steers debris into your hose, so you'll need a shop vac or dust collector connected to it to get the full benefit.
How hard is it to install?
It's straightforward. It bolts into the same spot as the factory chute, with no cutting, drilling or modification to your saw. Most installs take a few minutes.
Can I go back to the factory chute?
Yes. Nothing on your saw is modified, so you can put the stock chute back on any time.
How much of a difference does it really make?
A big one. The chute closes the gap where factory chutes let the most debris escape, so far more chips end up in your vac instead of on the floor, the fence and in the air. Read what 473 woodworkers say in the reviews above.
This is my second unit. First unit inexplicably shattered.
New unit went in nicely. I used original torx screws. I built an extra work area in my spare garage with automatic vacuum and piping. Much less dust.
This is one of the best upgrades you can make to your shop. The dust collection performance is significantly improved—even with just a 5HP Rigid shop vac. However, a word of caution regarding off-cuts: while my spouse was cutting a piece of wood, the off-cut caught on a tooth and was forcefully thrown into the dust collection port. Unfortunately, this caused the upgraded dust collection part to shatter completely. We were pretty disappointed, as we expected this upgrade to be more durable—especially since it’s not uncommon for off-cuts to get pulled into the dust system. It’s something to keep in mind if you’re considering this upgrade.
This is my second dust collector for my Rigid miter saw. The first one was damaged by a kickback that was my fault. I would rather order a new one than go back to the factory dust collector. The shop nation units are so good.
Broke the first time I used it.
Yes it eas installed correctly and fasteners were tight. Tried messaging on Instagram and no response.
Going to contact credit card company.
Absolutely JUNK!
It definitely improves dust collection. Having a long T20 screwdriver is a must. The dust chute rubs on the blade which was not expected, it doesn't seem to affect the operation of the saw. While installing didn't take long -about 20 minutes - I think I got lucky installing the two T20 screws because visibility is nil. Can't bevel cut at 45 degrees but that was explained upfront. Changing the blade will be more difficult since it requires the removal of the chute. It does the job that it was designed to do, which is improving dust collection. I can see where Ridgid/Delta compromised on their design in order to make it where you can do full bevel cuts and easier blade changes. If I was to make bevel cuts often, this chute would not be a good option.
It’s a huge improvement over the factory dust shroud. I’m sure it will be even better when I’m finished tweaking my dust collection system. Thank you Shop Nation!
Hope this review finds everyone well! It's a great idea but a tough execute. I will say the dust chute does improve collection a lot. It does have a few limiting factors such as cut depth of work pieces and the effort of changing a blade on your saw. You must remove the boot each time you have to change the blade and it being 3D printed the longevity isn't there and in my case I was cutting 1-7/8 cherry and a small piece of an end cut blew out and broke the back of the chute very easy. As said before great idea definitely could you some looking into I think I'll stick with the OEM chute and do a little more cleanup and not purchase another one.
If I would have known just how horrible the saw dust collection was going to be on my Ridgid miter I would have chose another brand. Shop Nations retrofit kit is a game changer. 100% of the saw dust is not captured but my guess is by the lack of saw dust after a dozen or so cuts at least 75% of the saw dust was captured into my shop vac. That is a game changer. I was to the point where I was not using the miter saw because of the mess, now it is almost a non issue. Two thumbs up!
Received broken or should I say, unglued. The part was clearly glued (poorly) at the manufacturer and the glue joint came unglued before I received it. Customer service did say they would send me a new one.
I am having some issues with my particular part, it appears the screw on the left hand side is not engaging the dust flap so it has slipped and gotten cut. In one picture you can see what happens when you don' t check the clearance between your fence and a 45 degree cut, lesson learned. Also getting the stock part out and getting the dust collector re-installed was a royal pain. Getting the right angle to do it and be able to see was hard. Not the fault of the dust chute, I blame Rigid.
Overall the instructions are great, the quality seems great and the packaging was really well done.
I use this saw for about a year before buying this. I knew about just didn't pull the trigger. Finally got frustrated with all the dust and all I can say is wow what a difference. It should come standard. It's not perfect but way better then I expected. Only minor complaint is it seems a bit thin especially around the sharp spinny bits. We'll see how well it lasts.
The upgraded dust collection chute is a game changer. The reduction in dust is night and day. I added it to my saw after I built my miter saw station and was absolutely thrilled right out of the gate. Unfortunately a short time after I bought it I accidentally launched a small hardwood offcut from lifting the saw up too early after the cut and blasted a huge hole through the brand new chute. I was bumming to say the least. I shot an email to Travis explaining what happened and asked if he would offer me a replacement at a discount and he did exactly that. Thanks a lot!!! One last pro tip…a 12” extra long Torx T20 screwdriver proves incredibly useful for the installation process of the screws that secure the chute!!!
Straightforward install with some extensions and small torx bits.
Massively reduces the amount of dust flying around when paired with a standard shop vac.
Just what the saw was missing!
The addition of the desk collection on the miter saw makes my workstation that much more pristine and organized without all the dust going into all of my tool bins. I’m very happy with this purchase and Travis should be very pleased with the design that he put out.
I loved the piece it worked great I need another one it broke after 1 week of use I have no problem getting another dust chute the design is great just cracked then blew out
I recently purchase the 12 in. Dual Bevel Sliding Miter Saw to replace my old DeWalt saw. I order the dust collection kit from Shop Nation at the same time. I'm preparing to build a new miter saw station for the Rigid and wanted improved dust collection before starting the project.
Installation of the new dust boot was simple and completed in 10 minutes with only 2 tools, phillips screwdriver and torx bit. All of the parts fit perfectly!
I made a couple of cuts with the Rigid before installing the new dust boot. After installation, the saw dust escaping was reduced by at least 90%. For me this is a huge improvement in keeping my basement shop free of dust and wood chips.
There are 2 drawbacks to using this system. You can't make miter cuts and the fence needs to be opened enough the clear the dust boot which can lead to chip out on the back of cuts. Since 90% of the cuts I make on the saw will be 90 degree cuts, this is not a big problem for me.
Works well for straight cuts. Cumbersome to remove for an angle cut. A modification to snap on and off would make it user friendly while leaving a dust collection function. Also, I blew out the back with a small cut off🥸. Duct tape.🍷✌️
I’ve been looking at this now for a few years and procrastinating on whether to buy one for my Rigid miter saw. Well I finally sucked it up and paid the money to get one. Now I have huge regrets and that is I wish I had purchased this sooner! Super simple to install and after using my miter saw with it on for a day I have little to no sawdust to clean up. This works amazing! Well worth the $$$$$!!!
I am surprised how well this works. It helps no doubt to have good suction. My system is hooked to a Festool Vac, and my connections are tight . the dust collection is at least 80%.
Installation was relatively easy although it was not clear in your video where the two chute screws are. but that is obvious from the part you send.
They do collect dust better, however a chip broke from a cut and blew the first one apart. A bit brittle perhaps.
I bought a second one, but for the Rigid, it has to be removed for a blade change and it is a major pain. So much so I don't change blades when I really should.
Replaced my old one after I had a kickback cutting something I shouldn't have been cutting that destroyed my first dust collector. This works better than expected, that is why I bought another one.
