Replacement Parts: Dewalt DW708 Dust Collection

Hope this lasts.

I knew going in that it was not going to be perfect... It's not going to make your old Dewalt dust-free. That said, it is a huge upgrade over the original equipment. I would recommend the product to anyone trying to clean up their workspace.

Part is fragile. I will have to be more careful not to let any cut wood, touch this part. Replacement part is like and same. I recommended that they cast this part in aluminum for durability.

I had to order different parts in two different orders to get the right thing for my dust collection, I wanted to order the whole kit, but you said it was unavailable and had no idea when you'd get it in. As soon as I start ordering parts, it became available. so I spent more for parts and got less than I would've if I could've got the kit. That was disappointing. And the screws for my parts were not included, which I paid for, so I am still waiting on those. I'm not mad at you guys, but just disappointed in how it all went. If you put yourself in my shoes possibly you can see that.

A little smaller than the original however they fit fine.

I'm very pleased with the dust collection system with the limited use to date. I was also impressed with the responsiveness to my inquiry pertaining to installation.

This was the second time the dust collector broke due to kickback. This time it was a small pice that kicked up. The concept and design is good, but the plastic is either low quality or the wrong type to have that close to a powerful saw blade. A softer plastic may prevent such a common issue with a miter box saw. Unfortunately, the original part is no longer also I’m stuck using your system. In addition, small cut off ends of wood clog the port and the saw and dust collection system must be shut off to remove the pieces.

Love how much less dust there is in the shop with this outstanding addition to my miter saw.

The dust collector works great on my Dewalt DW 708. The first one broke due to a kick back while cutting a small piece (my fault). I contacted Shop Nation for info on the break and if it would effect the operation. Shop Nation responded that it possible could and even though it was out of warranty they offered me a great replacement discount. New part installed and working great.

My original part was damaged when a chip of wood went up the chute and shattered the baffle inside the chute. After that, the dust collector did not function properly. I contacted customer service seeking a replacement part. I was told it I had it too long to get a free replacement. I was then sent a separate email with links to order replacement parts. I immediately ordered the part. Then I was sent a second email that contained a code that I could use to purchase the replacement with a 50% discount. I think it was because I had the dust collector for less than a year. Unfortunately I had already paid full price and never heard anything more. As for the performance, it seems to work well when cutting boards less than 5 inches wide, but not so good when wider. Since most of what I do falls into the <5 inches, I am satisfied
