Dewalt DW708 Sliding Miter Saw Dust Collection Chute

I was really impressed with the material quality and ease of installation. I’ve used it several times now and found that it captures about 95% of the saw dust. Much better than the factory collector adapter.

Didn’t fit

This dust collection add-on works significantly better than the factory installed port. I highly recommend this to anybody that has a DW-708.

It worked pretty good. The silicone was too small and didn’t catch as much as I wanted so I got a piece of the same thickness and made it bigger. It now catches almost everything. The plastic thing you made is wonderful and I couldn’t have done without it.

This outperformed what i thought it was going to do it doesn't catch all of the saw dust but it gets 97% of it I would recommend this to anyone

Good morning! I am totally satisfied with this purchase . It is very evident to me that your design is very well thought out and implemented into a superior addition for this saw. The instruction video is spot on, the unit is very easy to attach - the fit to my saw is perfect - no installation issues. Function - in my opinion - it does what it is designed to do. Prior to install this saw would kick out a lot of saw dust - dispersing over a large area. Now, I would say 99.0 % of the saw dust produced is captured by my dust vac system. I will send some pics and maybe a vid in a few days. Bottom line - a big head ache in my shop has been eliminated - my sincerest thanks. I am very very satisfied - my money well spent. I was cautiously optimistic... to me honest every time I have ever ordered a product off a Facebook add it has never been a good experience. Till..... now. Product arived in a relative decent time frame and I was impressed with the quality. Scann the quality code for install instructions is a very nice touch.... And the best part it REALLY WORKS AS ADVERTISED!!! It really cut the dust down in my small shop. I am very happy!!!

Only gave this 4 stars because there are no directions included, or on the website, for assembly. I’m pretty handy and figured it out but others may not be. Works exactly as it should and made a MAJOR difference in dust collection! So glad I got this upgrade!

If you use secondary fence , the rubber flap will bind when operating saw.

It is very well made and does as good a job as possible, given the geometry of the miter saw. The fences must be widened on miter cuts to allow the dust collector to pass. The included vacuum hose adapters are appreciated, but I need one that fits a 3" Craftsman shop vac.

This is easy to install and works as advertised (~ 70% dust reduction). It integrates cleanly with normal saw operation and is a thoughtful design. I appreciate having a custom solution for my old DW708 and delight in the creativity that generated it

Super easy install works great I would say it gets about 90% of the saw dust. That is SO much better then the several other methods of saw dust collection I have tried that all failed miserably, and even pretty much exploded on me . First, the dust collection chute certainly met and/or exceeded my expectations. It was simply to install and works well with the sliding miter saw. I hooked it up to my Rigid vac and I would say it collects about 85-90% of all saw dust being generated by cut. For me, that’s really good because I use my miter saw constantly and it’s been the biggest issue for creating saw dust. Very happy with it so far! And their customer service (Kerynn) is top notch as well! She went the extra mile to assist me with an issue I was having and couldn’t be happier the overall experience! I have another DeWalt miter saw that travels with me so thinking about buying another one for that saw!

Well made parts, and easy 5 minute installation. I do suggest drilling a 1/16' hole through the rubber flap while holding it in place to make it easier to put in the four small screws which will hold the flap in place. My first test cut seemed to collect the dust very well, but until I get into my first project will I be able to compare how much of a difference this will make overall. Hopefully I can update this review once that happens.

This was a direct bolt on unit. I could not have been any easier and it works great!!!

Everthing hooked up well. I'm going from my 4" dust collection hose to the smaller hose going to the saw collection attachment. I have lots of suction at the 4" hose, but it seems I'm loosing some of going to the smaller hose. Still works good, though, and, I'm still trouble shooting to see where, I'm loosing suction .

Only used the saw a couple times since installing the dust collection attachment but can already tell it’s awesome. I have a hood attachment to help minimize mess . Usually with original dust vac setup there is a lot of wood chips n dust in hood. With this setup I hardly had any . Shop Nation nailed it with this. I would say getting 80-90 percent of it right at the blade. Highly recommended it.

Had low expectations, but it actually works pretty well. Not 100%, but probably close to 90% which isn’t bad for something like this. Hopefully it holds up.

I installed the Shop Nation revised Dust Collection attachment on our retirement community shop's DW708 Miter Saw and received great feedback from those using that machine. A tiny bit of extraneous dust particles is all that's left... FAR BETTER than the original setup!

I contacted Customer Service since I can't scan a QR code by email Christmas day by email. Very surprisingly I had a reply within minutes giving me a link for the installation video. Install was easy and the collector works very well. My entire experience with Shop Nation was very good.

I have a Dewalt 708 and the factory dust collection port hooked to a shop vac was pretty bad. So the bar is low. The shop nation product is far superior and well worth the purchase.

I have it attached to my saw and this is well designed. I haven't used it yet but it's going to work very well. Glad I found your YouTube channel. Thank You!

I had a type 4 DW708. I knew I'd have to drill and tap some holes in the saw dust cover which I did without any issues. The 3D print for the outside rim of the main dust collector body was too thin in the area where the rubber chute attaches. As a matter of fact, it came to me broken in this area about 1/3 of the way around the body. I could still attach the rubber chute, but I'm concerned about how long it will hold since it's only attached through the rubber and into the inner rim. Not sure if this is a design flaw or a quality control problem (or both) but it would be nice to have a replacement body with a fully functional rim.

Doesn’t work much better than the original, but I haven’t given up on it yet. I plan on purchasing an upgrading dust collection system that will provide better suction.

I couldn't find a replacement for the dust port that cracked over time. This works better than the original design. The only minor issue was that the saw blade touched the plastic when installed. A quick spin of the blade cut out the perfect size notch.

I would say it collects about 75 to 80 percent of the sawdust on 90 degree cuts. It collects less on beveled// or\\ cuts. Vertical 45 seems to the same as 90"s. But better then the box I had before collecting dust. Christian

unfortunately I would have to make modifications to my saws fence or my auxiliary fence in order to get it to cut anything other than a 90 deg cut. It looks like it would work, but I didn't want to alter either fence

I had to modify the dust chute by filing the saw blade gap wider to the left side as the blade was interfering with (hitting) the chute by about 1/16” or half the blade width. With the wider blade gap the assembly works great.

I have a variant DeWalt 708 mitre saw. A little modification was necessary to install dust hood properly. It works extremely well collecting 95% of sawdust. The installation video was excellent. Pleased with purchase.

This dust pick-up is well engineered and built to high tolerance. Impressive, goes together well and works great.

Direction of the discharge hose off the chute should be aimed more straight back and not upward. Sharp directional changes along with the corrugations of the hose slow the sawdust down. Hose Adapter fittings don't fit. Take this from a retired engineer.

The dust collector for my dewalt 708 works awesome. Better than I expected. The funny thing is I have the type 4 model and had to drill an hole and add a bolt in the blade housing to attach it. I selected the saw model number when I ordered it. Didn’t read further about how it wouldn’t work on the type 4 model. Glad I did. Super simple attachment and is on there rock solid without any modifications to your collector. Thanks for a solution for the worst dust collection system ever created.

Months ago I watched your video on the testing and development of these vacuum attachments so I was super excited when I realized you had one designed for my DeWalt. I have never had decent dust collection and this works better than expected! Good job!

I had to use a number of different size vacuum connectors to hook up the hoses.

Fit my saw perfectly and after several sessions using I am pleased with the results. A very high percentage of dusr was collected.

I was skeptical at 1st, thinking it wouldn't fit. But after watching the installation video, it came together easily and works great!

I installed the dust boot and the hose adapter first; then cut a hole in the side of my dust collection cabine. Then installed a Rockler 2" to 4" blast gate and ran it to the other 4" port on my Jet big dust collector. I tried to send you pictures, but i wasn't able to send them. I think i could send them if i have your email address. Love your produt!!!

Plastic broke immediately. Also did not fit properly. Really disappointed!

Works very well. Big improvement over the stock collection system. Only negative comment is that it did not attach to my saw like the directions said to do. I had to modify my saw to make it fit. D it works well.

Seems to work ok but the suction of my very old rigid shop vac sucks in the flaps (collapses them). I have to relieve the suction by slightly disconnecting the hose. Kinda janky.
