Why are these narrower than the original?

I would have loved it more if the frist one didn't break. A piece of a knot came up and broke it . I was hoping thay were stronger than that. Yes I was warned about that. So now I dubble check were I am cutting. It's way easier to install the second time around.

Although I heeded the warning you published regarding small cut pieces damaging the funnel and pads, one got away from me, chipped a small piece from the funnel at the screw line and tore the pad a bit. I already had extra pads (just for this reason!) and the old funnel is still working pretty good with a bit of tape. I will probably replace when them when I change blades if not before.
That said, THE SYSTEM HAS WORKED GREAT AND MET MY EXPEXCTATIONS! Any Improvements to funnel durability would be welcomed. CHEERS

This is a replacement part because I was stupid and had a piece of board fly back and break the original. Lesson learned.
I’m using the old rubber collector and I’m keeping the replacement for future use.

Easily installed. Perfect fit. Saw dust now under control. I wasnt sure you would have parts for my Hetcules miter saw. But you did!

Have not used but thought I ordered flaps to match the new dust adapter I bought but the replacements were a bigger size. Seems I heard changes were made and thinking I received the older style but I can trim to match. I will wait until I use what came with the unit more to decide.

I was tired of trying to find the correct connection to wet and dry vacuum hose, so I bought the kit and solved the problem.

I installed it which is as far as I have gotten with things. Just by looking at the factory original and yours it is readily apparent that yours is a superior design. I found it interesting that it negates the blade guard. The blade guard had taken some damage when I first used the saw on a mobile workstation. I had forgotten to drop the workstation onto its legs and it moved as I was making a cut. The 2x4 I was cutting broke apart sending wood into the blade causing it to collide with the blade guard. All of that to say I am glad I have a spare in case some future incident might occur as the blade would shatter the plastic

I had been using this system for well over a year and the rubber flap got caught in the blade once, causing it to get partially shredded. Replacement was easy. This is a good way to vastly improve the dust collection ability of one's miter saw.

Works great for 1 inch boards. Not so good on 4x4 posts which make a mess and cut the rubber.

Well the first one I ordered did not last long I had a piece of wood kick back and demolish it. So I just received a second one and installed it hopefully it will last but if it doesn’t I will be putting the original equipment back on because it is a much stronger plastic than what you’re product is.

Felt inclined to give this five stars! Actually had a previous shipment rejected and reached out several times trying to get a credit. Gave a bad review then I realized my organization was blocking the incoming emails from Shop Nation. They were trying to contact me back the whole time. i like the dust collector for my hercules 12inch miter saw but unfortunately the main housing had cracks on both sides. I attempted to repair but not sure how long will last.

It did not fit the port on my new Hercules 12" Sliding Miter Saw. I had to use the larger end. I wrapped Black Electrical tape around the saw's port until it was snug enough to fit.

I was happy to find out I didn't need to re- buy a complete assembly after a kickback completely destroyed the previous one. The kick back also bruised my finger pretty badly. I think the new one is drastically better at collecting the dust and is the correct color now. Thanks.

First one i bought completely shattered when an off cut kicked up and hit it. Bought a replacementsince these do work better than the stock dust collection. I do wish the inlet was larger to allow better airflow., it seems a bit restricted.

Good fit to my Hercules miter saw but bad design of the rubber chute flap. Does not stay in place and will get caught in the blade occasionally. When that happens the thing is rendered useless.

The replacement chute was matching 100% the damaged one, so everything works as advertised; thank you for the speedy shipping!
There is still a certain quantity of fine powder that flies outside the chute, but it is much better than the original dust chute that came with the saw!

Ordered a Hercules Dust collection kit and was fairly simple to install. Made a couple of cuts and on the 3rd cut, a 45 degree off the end of a 2x4 and the small piece kicked back and shattered the end of the collection unit.
I contacted support and ordered a replacement which was sent out the next day.
Has worked great ever since!
