This thing does not do what it is advertised to do as I get as much saw dust with or without it. The rubber pieces do not fit securely and keep coming undone because you can't push them up far enough for the screws to secure them. I have a high horsepower Hercules collection system wich does great with all of my other tools. I do not recommend this...

I think I got the wrong one. I seen a photo online for the Hercules h74 I think is what I have. Its supposed to be a s 6 something for my saw but I got the s7 .

The installation was easy once I watched the Video provided by scanning the WR code. The video explained the installation very clearly and showed exactly what to do. I’m very happy with the amount of sawdust now getting captured by the Collection Chute. Highly recommend.

This fit the saw perfectly and works so much better than the OEM, basically non existent system. Nothing is going to make a miter saw dust free, but this works very nicely.
Just don't drop it six feet onto concrete taking it out of the box. I did and broke the hose connection of. Easy fix with a little epoxy and no fault of the part or the design. I knew it was 3D printed when I ordered it.

This unit is my second order, and replaces a previous one which was shredded by a piece of rogue wood fragment whe cutting. The dust collection works great and easily attaches to my Hercules miter. The problem with this order was the shipping time. Tracking showed it held by UPS 20 mile from me for 3 days before getting transferred to USPS for delivery.

Installation video was great. I think you’re missing one piece. The flexible tubing that goes over the motor housing needs a bracket that comes off of the trigger handle. The cable ties restrict the flow by pulling it over to the housing. Just dropping it over the motor housing is to me a safety issue. Make that bracket and I’ll buy it.

Definitely better than factory setup. Two suggestions. Air volume is essential for effective dust collection. For my saw, the Hercules, everything is too small. The unit is designed to fit between the blade and guard arm, making the air chamber very slim. That then connects to a very small hose that connects to the dust collector.
Maybe having it come straight out the side would allow a larger opening to a larger hose, to more CFM.
Also, the kit comes with several small adapters to connect to a dust connector. None fit my 4" hose. It may be more cost effective, and more convenient, to have the purchaser choose an adapter that works for his particular setup.
Otherwise, it's a big improvement, that is much needed. I hope these are patented. I can see the saw manufacturers stealing the designs.

Worked as advertised. Simple to install because the video was right on point. Took me about 20 minutes to install because I was stopping and starting video to follow instructor step by step. Could cut that time in half if I had to install another one. Hooked it up to my dust collector and I would estimate that it collects aprox 90 percent of the sawdust. Would recommend this to anyone. The product does do better than the OEM system. I would say it collects about 70% of the dust. I do wish it was made out of something more durable than plastic. The first unit I bought I had a kick back on the saw that hit the dust collector, and it shattered into multiple pieces.

Operating with my cyclone separator and shop vacuum it is really helping me keep my little 12x16 shop cleaner. Well worth the money!

My first chute broke and they were able to help with getting me a new one and sending instructions on what to watch out for with the next one. My hercules saw is very very dusty without this chute. This is a must have for me. Great fitting and dust collector chute. Very easy to install took 15 minutes. Cutting without nope!

This was between a 3 or a 4. This thing perfect and directions were spot on. It also works good for the space they give with this machine. Only reason for the 3 is that I cut into the rubber collector almost right away. It now has multiple cuts in it and we just rolled w it being we were outside. For the price, it was disheartening that happened. But they did send two and we will replace it. Other than that. Great quality and great fitment

Very pleased with my Dust Collection Chute for Hercules HE74 Miter Saw. The design and part quality was very good. Thanks to the installation video, it only took me about a half hour to completely install the chute.
I was very surprised by how effective it was removing saw dust with my vacuum/cyclone setup. It is not 100% effective, nothing is. But it was effective enough to make me much happier at clean up time:)

I was VERY skeptical about how much better this could be from the OEM on my Hercules 12" compound miter saw. WOW! While it doesn't look that much bigger than the OEM dust collection the difference is amazing. Way less dust to clean up. I wonder if Harbor Freight is paying attention?

That said, the build quality needs to be better. Metal inserts need added to the 4 mounting screws as the plastic will eventually wear from threading and unthreading the screws. A need brought on by the fact that to remove/replace the blade the operator also needs to remove the dust collector since the dust collector v7 traps the blade.

At best I see about a 40% reduction in the dust spread from the Hercules. it appears the opening is narrow due to the saw design. The screw in rigid tube (black) hit against the motor housing too tightly to use without a slight modification. I still like the unit and would consider it on a different saw.

Update from previous review. Worked great for the first three cuts, then the rubber flap split in the middle making it and the dust collection useless. They do provide an extra flap, but what do you do after that one splits? Wish they could improve this defect and supply a flap that wouldn't split.

Installation was easy and straight forward on my Hercules saw. It does not get 100% of dust, but, it gets a lot more than the stock setup and a zero insert may help collect even more dust. This will eliminate hours of sweeping and wiping in the shop. Only issue I have had was cutting a small piece to length and the cutoff was drawn into the rubber shoot and tore it. I would buy again and recommend the Hercules 12" Sliding Compound Miter Saw Dust Collection system from Shop Nation.
