Factory dust chutes leave a gap right where the blade throws the most debris. Ours is engineered around the Dewalt DW708 Sliding Miter Saw to close it and steer chips into your hose, so they stop ending up on the floor, the fence and in your lungs.

FAQ
Questions, answered
Which saws does it fit?
It's made specifically for the Dewalt DW708 Sliding Miter Saw. Pick your model in the selector above to get the right fit.
Do I need a vacuum or dust collector?
Yes. The chute steers debris into your hose, so you'll need a shop vac or dust collector connected to it to get the full benefit.
How hard is it to install?
It's straightforward. It bolts into the same spot as the factory chute, with no cutting, drilling or modification to your saw. Most installs take a few minutes.
Can I go back to the factory chute?
Yes. Nothing on your saw is modified, so you can put the stock chute back on any time.
How much of a difference does it really make?
A big one. The chute closes the gap where factory chutes let the most debris escape, so far more chips end up in your vac instead of on the floor, the fence and in the air. Read what 331 woodworkers say in the reviews above.
I was able to install the DW708 Type 1-2-3 dust collector to my DW708 Type 4 miter saw. I just had to attach it on the left side with (2) self tapping screws. Fit perfectly. See photo.
This exceeded my expectations by 100 fold. The native dust collection is non existent. Literally vomits dust everywhere. I had been using one of those giant nylon tents to "contain" the dust. Dust still got everywhere. Tent caught 60% by vurtue of the fact it just got in the way. The thing was huge and cumbersome. A PITA to set up. But way better than nothing. In comes this beautiful thing. Look at the pictures. That is after cutting 50 or 60 2x4. Granted I'm outside, but still there is no dust pile under the saw like the good old days B4 I installed this device device. Massive improvement. Worth the 2x the cost.
I can finally use my Dewalt 708 miter saw in my shop without getting choked by dust! The Shop Nation dust collector was easy to install and connect to my Rigid ShopVac, including the necessary adapters for a solid fit. It does a great job channeling most of the sawdust to the shop vac.
The only issue I had, a minor one, was how to get a stable mount for the exit hose/shop vac connection. I ended up using baling wire. It worked fine but there has to be a more elegant solution.
I have the "type 4" dewalt saw that they correctly identify as not compatable with this saw attachment. However, if you have a means of tapping one side of the saw to hold a small bolt, you can make it work as I did. The other side lines up automatically.
Customer service was excellent. Will definitely be back!
Despite having built a large shroud behind my DW708 miter saw, sucked by a 6” line from my 5 hp cyclone, plus having a dust extractor with auto start connected to the factory port on the upper guard, I was dissatisfied with the dust management at that tool.
The Shop Nation port arrived this week and I installed it following the very helpful installation video. The only tricky part was securing the back end of the included flex hose to the motor housing so that it was stable throughout the range of travel for a 90-90 cut. It took a few tries but it seems to be well-secured now.
The dust extraction is vastly better than it was with the factory snout. I am very pleased with this upgrade, as this is a tool I use constantly. If I had to replace the saw I would run, not walk, to Shop Nation for a dust port to fit the new saw. Totally worth the $60 I paid and I really appreciate the engineering that went into it.
Pros: I have a Dewalt DW708. This improved my dust collection by about 70% which is about 150% better than what I had before. Install was easy and intuitive, product description was realistic and accurate in terms of managing expectations with this particular DeWalt model. Cons: Unfortunately I can't give it the 5 stars I'd like to because it broke less than a month into use. A piece of HDPE about 1/2 deep, 3/16 thick and 4.5 inches long shot behind the blade and blew a hole in the main body less than a month in. I was able to scoot the rubber insert as far back into it's mating channel as it could go and patch the remaining gap with duct tape so it's still functional - but the overall brittleness of the plastic makes me question it's longevity.
Works great…probably 90% plus of the dust is gone! A little bit of dust behind the saw… NOTHING like before which was basically, “use the saw for 15 minutes, clean for an hour!”
I was really surprised how well this worked. Very easy to install Had it up and running in 15 minutes. Everything went together as advertised and works incredibly well would recommend this to anyone that wants to clean up less.
I have the DeWalt 708 model revision four, but it has the side plate and this attached effortlessly I would highly recommend it to anybody but keep in mind. It does not collect 100% of the dust some of the heavies make it by but all of the fine dust is collected. I love the job that they’re doing over there. I would love one for my DeWalt 705 series. Hopefully they’ll come up with that one. I recommend your products.
This thing is amazing on my Dewalt 708 Type 3. I watched the installation video and had it installed in a matter of minutes. I cleaned up behind my saw and then tried it several times. There wasn’t a spec of dust around the saw afterwards. So glad I saw the ad for it online.
I will also say the customer service is phenomenal. The website showed this as unavailable for my old saw. I wrote them and received an immediate response that they would investigate. In just a few days, they wrote back to say it was now available. That was greatly appreciated.
I highly recommend the product and the company to others.
This is a well thought out product. I am using it on an 20 year old DeWalt 708 sliding compound miter saw . A great saw with perhaps some of the worst dust collection I have seen. This chute is catching 85 to 90 percent of the dust . It is amazing ! Even when cutting Azek! Highly recommend.
The package was delayed due to very lousy weather but that is just what it is. I installed the dust collector as per you installation video and all went very well. I have tried a couple of small cuts and the dust collector seems to work very well. One suggestion. I manufacture a small 2" standoff that attaches to the plate at the rear of the head of the saw and used to attach the short hose to. I find that this guides the hose better when sliding the saw back and forth. see attached picture.
I bought a replacement dust collection chute for my DeWalt DW708 miter saw from y'all a few years ago when the original part cracked. It did the job...sort of. Let's just say it was better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick, but still dust was a problem. Then you came up with a new design, but for Type 1-3. I saw the picture that showed "must have this feature", which my Type 4 has, so I thought I'd roll the dice and drop a Ulysses on it. Well, I'm happy to report that it fit and works wonderfully. There's still a small amount of dust that escapes, but nothing like before. In fact, it's barely noticeable. My only suggestion is to make the 2.5" adapter a little less snug or some better way to connect to the vacuum hose. I swore I was going to crack it trying to separate the two. Now I barely mate them, but they stay together.
Only the first day with the new attachment but already the dust is significantly reduced. Haven’t cut any MDF yet but the reduction was at least 85-90% with soft and hard woods so I’m thrilled. Also what little dust there is now just falls to the back and sides and is no longer airborne like before. Super happy and would highly recommend the product.
Fits perfectly
Had an issue with missing parts that was resolved in a timely manner
Overall massive improvement from my factory setup. Honestly it’s getting about 95%dust extraction
My lungs thank you.
I was cautiously optimistic... to me honest every time I have ever ordered a product off a Facebook add it has never been a good experience.
Till..... now.
Product arived in a relative decent time frame and I was impressed with the quality. Scann the quality code for install instructions is a very nice touch....
And the best part it REALLY WORKS AS ADVERTISED!!! It really cut the dust down in my small shop.
I am very happy!!!
The dust collection chute was easy to install and works very well. This is a great solution for my miter saw. I did take a video but I couldn't add it after uploading the photos.
First, the dust collection chute certainly met and/or exceeded my expectations. It was simply to install and works well with the sliding miter saw. I hooked it up to my Rigid vac and I would say it collects about 85-90% of all saw dust being generated by cut. For me, that’s really good because I use my miter saw constantly and it’s been the biggest issue for creating saw dust. Very happy with it so far! And their customer service (Kerynn) is top notch as well! She went the extra mile to assist me with an issue I was having and couldn’t be happier the overall experience! I have another DeWalt miter saw that travels with me so thinking about buying another one for that saw!
Only used the saw a couple times since installing the dust collection attachment but can already tell it’s awesome. I have a hood attachment to help minimize mess . Usually with original dust vac setup there is a lot of wood chips n dust in hood. With this setup I hardly had any . Shop Nation nailed it with this. I would say getting 80-90 percent of it right at the blade. Highly recommended it.
I have it attached to my saw and this is well designed. I haven't used it yet but it's going to work very well. Glad I found your YouTube channel. Thank You!
I had to modify the dust chute by filing the saw blade gap wider to the left side as the blade was interfering with (hitting) the chute by about 1/16” or half the blade width. With the wider blade gap the assembly works great.
Months ago I watched your video on the testing and development of these vacuum attachments so I was super excited when I realized you had one designed for my DeWalt.
I have never had decent dust collection and this works better than expected!
Good job!
Excellent instructions and a very good fit to my DW708. My ShopVac has a larger hose but the transition coupler included in the kit fits perfectly. The locking lugs twist into a very secure fit, no tape or clamps required. It appears that 90-95% of the sawdust is caught.
Easy installation. Perfect fit. Does an excellent job on cuts the are “one board” thick. When I stack 3-4 boards to cut at the same time, dust collection is significantly diminished. Light amounts of dust spread across the saw and wood being cut.
It is still worth the money.
The installation was simple and stright forward. Took less than 15 minutes. The image shows how perfect it fit on my old 708 model saw. The video shows how concentrated the saw dust becomes at the vacuum port. This is so much better than any of the purchased or home brew solutions I have tried. Customer service is great as I transposed some numbers and initially ordered the part for a 780. They accepted the return and sent the correct part for the 708 quickly.
The installation was very easy using the video. The parts fit perfectly and the dust boot catches most of the sawdust. I won’t have a pile of sawdust behind the miter saw now. Small step forward for a cleaner shop.
