Delta Cruzer Miter Saw Dust Collection

This is the second one of these that I have purchased. I blew out the back of the first one, my fault, not an issue with the chute. I was cutting something sketchy. The dust collection is amazing. The down side is that I can't have a zero clearance fence with it in use. But I am willing to live with that to keep the dust down.

Works awesome on collecting dust but cant cut anything thicker than 1" or keeps it from letting the saw go down all the way.

Did not work well. In my opinion any dust capture shroud that has to first be removed for a blade change is not a good solution. Also the tek screw hole thickness was too thick, so the oem screws could not get enough purchase and so the chute popped off while trying to make a cut. Just put the old chute back on and will have to deal with the dust.

As usual, quality product. I have purchased several and all work flawlessly.

I had one of these that was an excellent dust collector. I was cutting a piece of hard walnut and the end of the board splintered into several pieces. One of the pieces was big enough to shatter my shop nation dust collector. I went online right after that and ordered a new one. Nothing that I tried works better than my shop nation dust collector. I only have a 10-inch Delta Cruz miter saw but it works just fine for what I need it to do. very good product in my opinion.

Great product, however will not allow my saw to do a 45° bevel cut to either side as the intake mouth is too large

Worked really well at picking up the saw dust, but do cut thin cuts with caution as they will get thrown back and damage the delicate 3d printed scoop. Wish buyers could purchase the files to print so I can do that on my own at my library now that I'm on my second one! All in all, great design and engineering to make this work SO much better than what the manufacturer provided!

I had purchased the dust collection for my Delta Cruzer and liked it. My fault I cut a small piece and it blew the back off( no fault of the piece). I put the factory piece back on and ordered a new one. Honestly I had no clue as to how much it worked until I put the new one on. I’m more careful cutting smaller pieces now but these do a fantastic job getting most of the sawdust

I had to modify the hose adapter to get my 2-1/2" hose to stay in the dust collector hose adapter. I have a Rigid shop vacuum and dust separator. When I connect it, the flap at the bottom would draw together and block dust collection. So I had a handle adapter that I use that allows me to reduce a little bit of suction. Now it performs much better.

Really a huge improvement over the factory dust boot. The only problem so far that I have found was when I put a thicker piece of wood to cut that it cut into the rubber attachment that hooks onto the 3D printed part. They send you 2 of these pieces so when one wears out you can replace it. Very satisfied though so far.

I bought a 10” & a 12 “. The 10” had a a weird mark on it when I got it. The second time I used it it shattered. I think there was a flaw in it when it was made. I’m just glad my saw and blade are ok. Had to put back the one that came with the saw. If you could find a way to send me a replacement I would give it a try. The 12” seems to be fine so far. Install the dust collector on my Delta cruz and it works great!

Good product, a little tricky to Re-install the blade but once it’s all back together, works well. My last one shattered when a small cutoff was slammed in to it, but partly my fault! Definitely will but again if it happens again

Instructions and video could be better. The 2 screws are up and out of sight. Otherwise product is good.

Absolutely amazing product.

The dust collection piece doesn't work with my Ridgid 10” Miter Saw. The blade on the saw needs to be angled in order for it to go over and onto the arbor, and the slot in the dust collection piece isn't wide enough to allow it to do so.

It works great when making square cuts, but doesn't allow the saw to tilt much for bevel cuts.

Product works great on my Rigid 10" miter saw. I was going to move to the Festool Kpex until I got this product from Shop Nation.

Works wonderfully! This is such a game changer. Paired with my Oneida Dust Cobra and my dust collection is reduced by probably 90%! Amazing!!

Was skeptical about this product but fit nicely on my Ridgid compound sliding miter saw. Used a 2 1/2” hose connected to my central dust collection and the dust is minimal. Great product.

Gotta say. The reviews are actually on point. This thing works great!! The installation video is correct about needing a very long stem screwdriver for the screws, which I fortunately have. A light is helpful as well. lol. The real genius in the design is the way the 3D printing allows a perfect fit. Otherwise, reinstalling this would have been considerably more difficult! Instead, it lined up great and made getting those screws in much easier. PRO TIP: before attaching, thread the screws in until they protrude a little, then install the attachment. The precise design allows the screws to serve as a guide and slip back into their holes with ease. Then connect your dust collection and prepare to be completely blown away!

Love the product. My Cruzer is leaps and bounds better with this new dust boot and the off set coupler made the hook up a breeze.

The dust collection adapter on my Cruzer works and works pretty well. That's the good news. The not so good news is that it needs to be added with the blade installed, AND when you want to change blades it has to be removed. Both instances are difficult as the screws are virtually hidden and finding them with the Torx screwdriver is a real chore. The limitation on the amount you can bevel is also not appreciated. Maybe the adapter could be a two-piece unit: the back half remains in place but the front half could be easily removed for blade changes and bevels. Is this possible? I hope so and would happily buy the new version.

The existing hood was not of much use. Getting the old one out and the new one is is tight but that is the saw Once installed, I ran some test cuts. True they are entirely subjective, but I felt I was seeing a substantial change since then I use the saw with suction attached through the port daily and it word fine. Only thing which is the saw, if the saw head is rotated on its vertical axis, it does limit the depth of cut towards the fence

The dust collection chute is an improvement, but as i stated in one email, once you can make some adjustment to it so i don’t have to take it off to change blades, that would help. It seems that the tap into the housing is not the greatest, so the screws that attach it may strip out if it has to be taken off and on several times. I know that’s not your doing, but it is still a problem if it happens. Also the adaptor you sent in the complete kit for the 2” hose connection doesn’t work with my hose. There is minimal clearance with you adaptor. you developed it with an offset, but it’s not enough. Needs to offset maybe 1/4” more for the universal hose i use

Install was perfect. Collects the dust way better than the factor collector!

Dust port is made very well. Installing it was good. The big problem was installing the blade back on. Blade was hard to line up the slot. Once on and cutting I'm very happy with how it sucks 90 percent more dust Good job.

The upgrade dust catcher part works great. The 2 1/2" hose adapter doesn't clear the lift handle on the Delta Cruzer 10".

Nice add on to my saw

Massively improved dust collection on my Ridgid sliding miter. It made a huge mess with every cut. I would get dust everywhere, now it's much more contained and works really well. Worth every penny.

10” saw. Love the dust collection. However cannot lay the saw down to miter at all and removing the unit is a major hassle. If you never tilt your saw, it is a fantastic unit.

The dust port severely limits the cut capacity of this saw. I had to reinstall the factory dust port. I would not recommend.

It works pretty good. My guess is it collects about 80% of the dust. As the saw came, even when hooked up to a shop vac collection was next to nothing. Unfortunately I have found two draw backs. If you use the slide function you can't cut any stock over a inch and a half thick and the device must be removed before you can change the saw blade. All in all not bad but not great.

Overall, I'm very happy with this. It is a little tricky to install. This is not a flaw of the part itself but is primarily a side effect of how the saw is designed and how the part needs to be swapped. Note also that it is important to be careful to not allow your saw blade to catch and throw an offcut into the piece or it may shatter. The fence design for the Cruzer is such that you may need to create a small supplemental "zero clearance" fence as you cannot really get this with the built in fence.

Great fit and great quality with extra rubber replacement flaps!! Easy installation . Added an 1" 1/2 flex coupling onto my vacuum port with 1" 1/4 reducer adapter for my m18 milwaukee wet dry vac !!

The dust chute is a game changer for controlling miter saw dust. Instead of saw dust flying all over, it goes into the vacuum. Thank you for a fantastic product.

While it was not easy to install, once done the dust was reduced significantly. I called Delta to voice my displeasure with the 10" miter saw dust creation. The Delta rep mentioned Delta is aware and working on an upgrade that can attached. They even referred Shop Nation's solution!

Saw this on line and as with most things I was a little skeptical until I read the reviews. I like when companies put all their reviews the good and the bad for customers to see and make up their own mind. I liked what I read and thout it was worth a try so I got one and it works very well. Not perfect but 98% better than the method I was using. Added a new vacuum to the miter saw to enhance the suction power. I am extremely happy with the product and would recommend it. I would however suggest that they add some directions on installation. My neighbor got one and was not as familiar as I was on how to install it. I assisted him and he did not realize how easy it was.

The fit is great. Bolts up nicely. Dust collection a bit disappointing. Might be better with a larger suction hose.

Good quality but a real pain to install. The added 2 1/2 in adapter is useless and no better than the original piece provided by Ridgid. Better to just get the chute than the full package.

Rigid 10” Sliding Miter Saw Dust Collector Great improvement in dust collection. However, I found it difficult to install and don’t relish the thought of a blade change which will require its removal. I highly recommend changing the original “T” type screws and replacing them with an Allen head equivalent. This type of screw head is much more secure and when used with a long Allen wrench it made installation much easier.

Incredible! I bought this dust collection upgrade for my new Ridgid 10" sliding miter saw. I made a few cuts without it, and it was like a scene from a horror movie. I put this bad boy on, and it was like a night and day difference! Thank you for all of your hard work with coming up with these as the big companies could apparently care less about dust collection.

Infuriating Install Cool product idea, definitely a need for it because the dust collection on this saw is atrocious. Well it's a good idea the design is flawed and the install is the most frustrating thing I think I have ever done. You can't put the blade on with this thing attached. It has to come off every time you want to change a blade. And trying to screw the thing on while your knuckles are grating against a saw blade is a really fun time! Great thinking! I spent an hour trying to get this thing on and never actually got both screws in. I'm not going through it every time I need to change out or sharpen a blade. I'd rather deal with the dust than with this piece of garbage. What a waste of time and money!

Fits PERFECTLY, build quality is EXCELLENT. But.... ?!? Does it work? YES! Just like in the videos. Does it fit correctly? YES! Better than the original non-functional part. Is it priced right? Probably. I own a 3-D printer, but I bit the bullet and I think it's worth it. No stinky ABS or tweaking settings. Good customer service? YES! 15 days from order placement to arrival at my door, carefully packaged, all parts neatly organized. Emails every so often announcing milestones. But...it stinks. I mean it literally STINKS! It smells like someone chain-smoked cheap cigarettes while it was printing, while it was being packaged, while it was being handled, during it's whole existence up to arriving at my front door. It REEKS of smoke like a building burned down around it. I washed the parts, but it all STILL smells SO BAD. My son came into the office where I opened it and said "Mom is gonna kill you for letting someone smoke in here." Even the box was so offensive I had to take it outside to the trash cart. My workshop takes over the whole garage, but has a corner left over for the laundry area, and she's threatening to not go out there if I don't uninstall it and get it out of her perception. I'm going to try to a desperation alcohol-wash before I throw it out, but she-who-must-be-obeyed will not be dissuaded and I'm not too hopeful at this point. So, SO SAD! In summary, it is (would be) a perfect product if I could just be allowed to keep it. DANG! What a TRAGEDY! And what a waste of fifty bucks.

Dust collection performance greatly improv... Dust collection performance greatly improved with this. Only problem it's fragile mine cracked twice which I repaired ( job weld/ super glue) third time kickback blew it up and I had pieces 30' or more from my saw station. However I ordered a second one and it's back to sucking dust.

For those having any issues with the install, I found that the new chute will hold the screws if I start them in the wholes and let the ends show out the other side a bit. First one completely blew apart, I did pur... First one completely blew apart, I did purchase another, but was still charged 50% cost. I felt he should have sent out another at no charge. So far the second one has held up, but I have barely used it. Also, 3d printer plastic seems weak and brittle

I haven't been able to install it yet, nee... I haven't been able to install it yet, need to build the miter saw station first. But, the 3d printed parts quality was great! Parts were carefully packaged, no missing pieces, edges deburred, and supports were cleanly removed. I don't foresee any issues with installation, and let's be honest, there's no way to make the dust collection any worse on these saws. Thanks!

This an amazing upgrade for this saw. The... This an amazing upgrade for this saw. The dust collection for this saw is less than desirable and this solves that problem. this is the 2nd Ive ordered. Had a small part blow up on me and in turn blew up my dust chute. This is so worth it that I ordered the second. The package came quick both times and he is a top notch seller. Would recommend this and/or him to anyone any day of the week.

You have to slide your moveable fences for chute to clear, getting the blade installed is a huge pain in the ass after installing this. Dust collection is much better than stock chute. The pro is better than the cons.
