Ridgid 12" Sliding Miter Saw Dust Collection Chute (R4222)

Drastically cuts down on dust. After going through pneumonia this product has been a serious life saver. I really really like the products that shop nation offers and it was so easy to install. Highly recommend . Keeps job sight so much cleaner and hooked up to my big 16 gallon Ridgid 6.5 HP. Vaccum with a bag and a heppa filter and diffuser.... tier is no dust or mess. Even awesome with my Ridgid 5.0 HP vack with bag heppa filter and diffuser is just as good. I with I got it a long time ago due to the stock one not being so great. It also has the two attachments to make it easy to switch vacuums depending on the job. Buy it your love it no matter what brand sliding dual bevell compound saw you have. Great job shop nation hands down.

I received the wrong part. I was able to make it work. When I told customer service they were very helpful and told them I figured out how to make work what I received.

The longest part of the installation was sitting thru the one ad I got before the install tutorial on YouTube. Superb product. While it doesn’t catch 100% of the sawdust, I can say that it does catch 90-95% of what comes off the saw.

I installed it. Doesn’t catch everything still got to clean up behind the saw. Still noticed saw dust. It’s okay but won’t buy again. Plus it took almost two weeks to get it

Quality material, easy install. I found the flex hose a problem, the length could be a few inches longer. The flex hose is stressed when cutting wide boards. When adjusted for wise boards and switch to narrow boards the flex hose bunches up in the unit and can't complete the cut safely. I added a longer hose from an old shop vac and it works just fine. Good dust collector.

What an improvement! Exceeded my expectations.

To be honest with all the hype on the internet I was expecting more, even though miter saws are not kind to dust collection. The thing that really disappointed me was the hose hanging loose from the rear of the saw. I guess I was supposed to zip tie it to something but it seemed too jankey. I ended up making a bracket out of aluminum flat bar that resembles the factory piece . Even though it still doesn’t work all that well at least it looks professional….. no zip ties !!!!

Although Ridgid stated that the 2 models were similar and that your model # was sImply my model #updated, the unit did not connect properly. I guess I'll need to make up a modified unit based off of your unit that will fit my saw.

This works pretty well.

The supplied hose is not long enough to anchor the end to the saw, so it doesn't flop around. Their only remedy was to sell me a 30" hose for $30, and I assume plus shipping, I don't know because I didn't take them up on their generous offer.

Just installed it , used it to cut mdf casing so far works fantastic, have to see how it works when cutting baseboard which stands taller when cutting

Order and delivery process was easy with clear communication. Installation video was very clear and helpful. As advertised, product captures “most” of the dust while cutting a 2x6 board.

Did not fit or work. No phone number to call,, no response from numerous emails. They should be ashamed.

Installation went fine. I personally would have like a set of written installation instructions, even if I had to go to a web site to download and print. Flexible hose that goes to the dust collection system could have been a couple of inches longer in my opinion.

Ordered and it broke in a few weeks of casual use. Got a new one and a board kicked up and the thing blew into pieces. So back to not having anything. Now to order a new one or come up with another option.

This adapter was perfect! It reduced dust off the chop saw by at least 80%. Wish I had got this years ago

Great product. Couldn’t find replacement bracket anywhere fir saw and this was a good substitute.

Works great for straight cuts …one board at a time. If you try to cut multiple the rubber gets stuck on the wood and the blade can actually hit it if not careful. Also you can not miter anything more than a 1x4 because again the rubber hits the lumber and can get caught in the blade. Straight cuts work great for 1x material. Think the design needs some revamping especially for miters

WOW, WOW & WOWZER! I built this ginormous shroud for my Ridgid miter CHOP saw & and the manufacturing exhaust still spewed sawdust everywhere, thankfully in the shroud that I built. But it still was a humongous pain in the butt! I attached The Shop Nation exhaust and it literally removes 98% of the sawdust. I no longer need this ginormous shroud and I couldn’t be more pleased! I wish I had done this way sooner! I realized that I was doing things that could’ve been done on the chopsaw on my table saw because it has a much stronger exhaust for sawdust. I am now back on my chopsaw regularly and it makes life so much easier in my workshop! If you’re on the fence about buying this… Jump off and buy this exhaust from Shop Nation, you will not regret it!

Best dust collection ever

Installation was simple and straight forward following the video. However, the hose adapters do not fit my Hercules dust extractor or my rigid shop vac that as the smaller hose. Shop Nation didn’t have any ideas on a 3d print to make it fit. Disappointing.

I would give it one more star bur I am working on a bathroom remodel that I don't need my saw so I have not installed it yet. It does seem very well made.

I bought this as a Christmas present for my son-in-law. Therefore it has not been used yet but he did check it out and is looking forward to using it.

The product works very well, collecting a majority of the sawdust the saw produces. The installation video was spot on and left no questions as how to install the collection system. My only suggestion would be to make the hose a bit longer as I am pulling on it a bit when cutting wider boards. For me, a definite 5 out of 5 stars.

Installed it while watching the instructional video. Made it through about 10 cuts and it broke.

I would’ve thought that it would’ve picked up more of the dust from the miter saw. It’s better than it was but not great. And now I just use it and the plastic severed completely off.

This thing is great cuts dust probably by 75%, I would definitely recommend it to anyone if you do wood working or just a hobbyist

Wow, Wasn’t sure what I was purchasing as there are a lot of options. These are badass, dry easy to install, along with hookup to dust collection system. Like advertised, sucks up all the saw dust leaving “0” mess to clean up. Great buy!!!!

Easy install and a lot less dust around the miter saw station. Only hassle is you have to take the shroud off to change the blade but that takes about 30 seconds to do. Small price to pay for significantly better dust collection

It was easy to install and preforms much better than the stock equipment.

The plastic original pieces that came with my saw had broken. I looked online for replacement parts and stumbled across this aftermarket part. Ordered, installed and it works like a champ! So happy with this!

I saw ads for this all the time on my Facebook page but ignored them. Then I saw an unsolicited endorsement on a YouTube carpenter video. So, I thought I’d try it. Wow! It works fabulously! I couldn’t believe the difference. I would recommend this to everyone who has a mitre saw. One small nit: the expansion hose is too short to allow full extension of the 12 inch saw. It needs to be at least three inches longer. Now, this saw is capable of cutting a 16 inch board — something I am very unlikely to do. The 12 inches I have with the short hose is probably more than I need but a longer hose would make an excellent product perfect! Thanks for your wonderful product. Now, if you could help me with my dust spewing from my 12 inch DeWalt table saw … P.S. The superb instruction video is worth as much the product itself. How great was it to have a customized version for my exact brand. Paying attention to detail is what separates a good company from an awesome one.

It works as advertised! I no longer have to put up dust collecting hood on my Rigid 4222 for all my cuts. That’s a major plus for a small basement shop where minimal dust is imperative. Very impressed!

Works way better than the stock dust collection. Thought it was a gimmick at first but I was blown away by how much it collects even when its not hooked to dust collection it still out performs the stock dust collection.

I would love to rate the dust collector. If you look at the photo you see there is no dust collection on my saw. I ordered from Shop Nation on September 14th. The next email confirmed the order. On the 16th of September an email with shipping information attached. Fast forward to today (September 30th) and I still don't have the dust collector on my saw.

My first one broke on first usage. Something got caught and the attachment to the shroud snapped. I told shop nation that it had broken and they immediately sent me a replacement, no questions asked. The replacement has been working great ever since!

This product definitely improved the dust collection of my R4222 saw. I would have given this product a 5 rating except for the connection to my vacuum. The option of attaching it to the saw handle with zip ties was not appealing so I left the connection dangle. Unfortunately the hose now goes right by the the screw that controls the sliding action of the saw.

Installment was easy with good instructions. I’ve only made a couple of cuts so far and so far it works great.

I’m back and forth on this upgrade. First off, the dust collection is amazing!! Very happy about that. This would be great if you’re just crosscutting 1x to length. Once you get into some taller stock, it just gets in the way. Cutting baseboard and jobsite material is not for this. I’d recommend it to someone with a wood shop, but tell an onsite carpenter to look for another solution. I know it comes on/off with two thumb screws easily enough but no one is going to do that every few cuts. I have the rigid 4221 and I feel the hose should be an inch or two longer. It “works”, but I feel it’s being stretched to its max and I wonder about longevity. You guys do have an amazing product for what it’s good for. I look forward to version 2.0

This is a great product! The stock chute allows so much dust past, but with this chute and a vac/cyclone system it virtually minimized the usual dust easily by 90%. Much cleaner jobsites!

I was pleased to finally find this replacement part for my mitre saw. The replacement part works great, I received my item quickly and the instructions were clear and easy to follow. I am extremely satisfied!

The dust collection is great. This is my second one. The first one was destroyed by an incident when a board was slung into the first one.

Everything fits fine an does everything that was advertised

Fits perfectly. Haven't had a lot of time to test it. Took a second to figure out where to strap the tubing so that it didn't impinge on the sliding action, but I got it set up now and it looks like a great addition.

Extremely well made. Excellent installation instructions. Has made a major difference in the amount of dust in my shop. Works well at all cut angles. Get one, your shop will be cleaner and your lungs will be clearer.

We cut cardboard boxes. Bought our second chute recently and it didn't last a week. Plastic chutes are too brittle. Would like to find one made of aluminum.
