The dust collector works great. It’s way better than the original even with a vacuum attached. I tried several different ways to collect dust I found on the internet but most got in the way when using the saw for miter joints. Shop nations is out of the way and collects 90% of the dust.

It's a big upgrade over the factory system on a dewalt 779, but when you slide the saw on a wide cut, the dust/chips will bypass the suction head as they travel under the throat plate and out the back. It gathers about 70% of the dust created. My first unit broke when a piece small piece of material was thrown back by the blade. I will say shopnation was great to help me replace the broken part and shipped quickly. This is a very good company to do business with.

I use your device with a shop vac, pulse a large dust collector behind with a Harvey G700 and together they work great. I saw on the internet where someone has designed dust collection for the zero kerf area on the Dewalt……is that you? I would add that, if it came from you, but I would not switch systems to add it. What I have now works great.

It is a replacement. It is a bit rough in the throat. The other was smooth. A bit of sawdust collects in the rough area.

This is a good product. Works okay. There is no way to collect all the chips coming off the Miter Saw blade. I first bought this system this spring. I observed some deterioration from contact with the blade so ordered a couple more. Satisfied customer.

I bought the full kit from you guys but the rubber kept falling off. I ordered new rubber and took the whole thing apart only to find the chut body was cracked so no longer holding the rubber in place. So I had to order another chute body. Now with shipping of both replacemnet pieces I am in over $100 whcih I think is way overpriced for what it is. Hopefully this one will last.

This certainly collects a lot more dust than my Dewalt did before. It works really well. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because it's hard to get the flat rubber piece that collects the dust to stay in the saw. A piece of rubber, held in by metal screws. The rubber falls out every now and then. You can't tighten the screws too much or they go right through the rubber. This is not a deal breaker. I will continue to buy this dust collector.

A small chunk of wood kicked out of my saw and shattered the chute. The replacement chute was very easy to install and fit perfectly. I'm very happy to be back up and running.
I was a little surprised how easy the 3D printed piece broke . I really like the design and would be very interested in the cost of a metal chute if that were an option.

The fit between the adaptor and my shop vac hose is not the best but it’s close enough. Otherwise I’m impressed at how well dust is handled at the saw itself. Makes me wonder why the saw manufacturer was satisfied with the status quo, sawdust everywhere.

On thicker wood, the saw blade catches the rubber dam and cuts it up. It also tears it out of the mounting slot. Consider making the mounting slot deeper so it might hold better.

The difference in dust collection versus the stock is amazing. Very pleased with the quality and how well it fit. Only question I have is i didn’t receive the free woodworking plans that was part of my order. I would like to know how to receive what i paid for.

The design is fantastic, but the material is WEAK. I left another review on the whole system, but this is one of the components that continues to fail. I got this item as a replacement for the last one that shattered from a loose piece shooting into it off the saw. Both incidents were caused by others on the site using the saw. But this thing is just TOO delicate for professional use. I’ll buy one more to replace my broken one, and hopefully a stern warning to whoever uses it will help mitigate the risk of further damage.

I have these installed on my DeWalt Miter Saw and it works great. But I installed this rubber flap on my Kobalt Saw because of the ultra short dust port extension. It helps a lot.

I bought the first chute body for my DEWALT 780 saw a few months back. It made a vast improvement over the stock dust collector.
Just recently had a cutoff get caught between the blade and the chute body, which destroyed the chute body. Just installed the second chute body. Hope it lasts longer than the first one did. I bought two so I have a spare on the shelf ready to go just in case.

It “works” but seems as if rubber is too big to fit. It actually ripped the rubber and fell off where the screws were because it wouldn’t fit up in correctly and was only truly a few days. Flipped over because didn’t wanna waste them because I can’t afford to waste money. But on a positive note absolutely still am in live with the dust collection saves a ton of cleaning on my miter saw.

the piece is well made and works great for me, i have a rigid shopvac and purchased the 2.5 adaptor and would like to sugest that large side could be about an Inch longer and have a rim lip so that the hose latch catches and does not slip off,

I'm iritated that I have to keep buying these inserts. They work fine when cutting material up to 1", but they snag and shred when cutting thicker material.
Since the installation of the tube cannot be easily reversed, you're pretty much stuck with the situation. The dust collection kit should come with a lifetime supply of these replacement pads.

Destroyed my last dust chute. Admittedly, a user induced explosion of parts. I attempted to cut a 3 3”x3”. Very bad decision on my part; As I brought the plane in contact with the material, the blade ripped the 3”x3” from my finger tips, launching the piece into near earth orbit, taking parts of the dust chute with it. I’m willing to bet most of the “dust chute explosions” are induced in similar fashion…

I set everything up and proceeded to shoot a small offcut into the pickup which destroyed it. 100 percent my fault. Ordered a replacement and am happy I did. My dewalt 718 had zero dust collection before, but leaves very little now. I will always have one on my saws.

Worked like a charm once I got it installed! Dewalt makes a great sliding miter saw but the dust collection is essentially non-existent. No longer! It was a bit tricky to attach the dust chute while the blade was still installed (my decision alone, it was NOT part of the instructions), and I had to buy a set of Torx of screwdrivers because I didn't have a bit driver long enough to get up inside the screw channels, but again, that's a Dewalt saw (T-20 AND T30 Torx screws mixed with Phillips screw elsewhere on the saw, really?!?), so oh well. Who doesn't like an excuse to buy a new set of tools? Great product that is going to greatly improve my quality of life during future woodworking sessions. Highly recommended!
