I was disappointed that it would not be effective when cutting through wood that was 3 inches thick and 6 inches wide. The rubberized attachment to the intake was obstructed when trying to cut through the wood plus the blade destroyed the rubber during the cut. I’m sure that It would be very effective if you were only working with standard sized wood Such as a 2 x 4 or three-quarter inch plywood. There’s got to be a better way to cut wood. that is bigger and thicker and wider. Unfortunately, this was not the answer for my needs. I have since ordered a dust hood that will hopefully catch the debris before it gets throughout my shop.
I want to thank the designer for his attempt and hard work in making this product. Unfortunately, it did not answer my needs.

I would have given 5 stars, but I haddid to search YouTube to figure out the installation and the video I did find had poor lighting and camera angles. Including a link to a quality installation video would have saved a bit of frustration. Once it was installed it worked great and it is a huge improvement on the dust collection.

The black flap a little large, had to cut it so it would fit. When finally screwed it and proceeded to make a 30 degree cut the flap cut in half. This was not the first time this happened. I finally took the dust collection off the miter saw, also the chute split by the screw hole by the flap. Very disappointed. Thank you, Sal Calabrese.

The plastic is brittle. A piece broke off the neck. I got enough of the hose over the neck to cover the missing plastic.

The old rubber piece had gotten chewed up, and the dust removal performance had deteriorated markedly. I bought the replacement rubber mats. When I tried to attach them I discovered that the part of the plastic with the little screws to attach the rubber had also gotten chipped off. So i glued the rubber to the inside of the plastic with CA glue, and it seems to be holding fine. Dust collection performance is back to normal. I will probably need to replace the plastic piece eventually, but for now it seems fine.

This was a replacement for one I broke when a cut off shot back and blew out a big hole in the dust chute. I haven't installed the replacement yet and just using the old one duct tapped until I get around to replacing it.

Plastic is functional for a short time UNTIL wood debris AGAIN hits chute and fractures in many dangerous projectiles .... repeat.
A metal chute would resist fracture and prevent plastic projectiles from hitting my FACE... AGAIN
If the metal chute is 2x or 3x the $ of the plastic chute,
let the customer decide-plastic OR metal.
The factor of LIABILITY ends when the customer makes his/her decision, Metal OR Plastic.

Everything fit and works as it should. A vast improvement over the useless original part. I have this set up with my DeWalt cyclone dust extractor. After some measuring and research, I bought a silicone reducer off of Amazon (ETL Industries 1.75" to 2.5" reducer) to connect to the 2.5" port. Works perfectly. Be careful when tightening any screws as the plastic is a bit thin in areas. I would highly recommend!

I had to buy a number of these replacement plastic sheets because they get destroyed when you cut thick wood such as 6/4 lumber. I'm going to have to try to either cut one back or try slits.
Besides that make sure that you have it hooked up to a good vacuum. Otherwise the chips just bounce back.

Does a great job of collecting the dust from my chop saw. Just be careful when cutting small pieces and put a sacrificial fence behind the work or you risk sending the off cut through the chute and shattering it like I did.

The dust collection system picks up most of the dust, far more than the factory system. I use an auxiliary fence, and it took a bit to get used to the idea that I have to "jump" this fence to keep the rubber chute out of the blade. I am very happy with the design. It was easy to install and works well
